  • This video will show how to make your Phantom Retractable Screen work like new again if your screen mesh remains in good condition. This is very easy to do. If you need to actually replace the screen, that is more complex but still straightforward - see my other longer video here: • Rescreening and Repair...

    I installed one of the screens at my house Several years ago. As I was sitting Admiring my work, my neighbor walked up to the door, and my labrador ran right through it.😂

    Thanks, - Gonna try it. Ours used to work fast, now it's unpredictable, slower and sometimes hangs. Microsoft Windows is Just like that, but your method to fix it looks far easier - 😁

    I can't thank you enough. A friend's dog went zooming through my screen door and pulled the mesh right off the roller. I've never had to fix one of these before and I didn't know to load the spring... 14 rotations made it work like new. Very much appreciated!

      Someone who I do miscellaneous work for had their dog, do the exact same thing. I’m going to take it apart Thursday and put it back together. Was it easy to figure out how to get the screen reattached to the spindle?

      We had our Tom Cat try to go through to get a squirell. 😽 Fortunately, he didn't recognize he can always go under the screen.😄

    I recently purchased a single door retractable screen door unit and busted the bottom end cap and need to know where I might secure a parts catalogue or an email address to contact NovaViison to order this part. In advance thanks for your help.

    I tried to do this outside in 95 degrees, 75% humidity, and biting gnats. I was unsuccessful. Taking project downstairs. LOL.

    Where can you get replacement guides that go in to and bottom of the handle rail

    • @prototypechannel6975
      @prototypechannel6975 11 месяцев назад

      They can be purchased separately. Best to have the local distributor do a full service and replace those at the same time.

    OK, but MY BRISA Retractable Screen Door - single - does NOT have the same tension holder tab. Mine is from about 2014, and is a square -rather than a straight tab - making this 14 turn procedure impossible with the screen I have. Do you have any suggestions? Seems perhaps BRISA has changed it over the years? Thx.

      @rcl767  2 года назад

      I have never had to buy the spline and haven't attempted to craft one. If any viewer has an answer would love to hear it!

    the phantom vendors/ dealers are not allowed to sell you any parts ( I need the spline ) because it voids the warranty the vendor wants up to $200 to install a screen .. where did you get the new spline to install your new screen ? Mine is the flat plastic type that slides into the groove on the cartridge.. thanks

      @rcl767  2 года назад

      I did not have to buy a new spline, sorry. If you figure out how to buy or make one, please share. Thank you

    I have a truly ancient Phantom Screen. It's from the 1990's! It's been a workhorse.... but a few years ago, the sun damaged end caps (ok, all the white plastic bits are a bit dodgy! ) have broken at the screw tabs. We had an 'expert' come out to fix it - well, he gob'ed on a lot of white silicone caulking. Bottom line is I need replacement end caps. They're 'different' than the ones in your video - yours are beefier... but I think that the new caps will fit. Any sources available?

    • @prototypechannel6975
      @prototypechannel6975 11 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately the old caps are obsolete. Unless you can find a local dealer who can be on the lookout for some scrap ones from a reaplcement screen.

      Eventually, the sun's going to bake all the plasticizer out of there, just like aging dashboards in a car. Sounds like time for a 3D printer to me, yeah... That's the ticket 😁😁 Then you can make US a RUclips video!!
