I'm 3 months in with DIY 2 strand twist locs. I'm loving them more by the day. I just didn't know anything about locs when I went natural 10 years ago or I would have done it back then. Every minute that it's not braided down, my hands are in my hair. I love it so much that nothing bothers me; not slippage, not unraveling, not frizz, nada. Just love, love, love.
Hey, girl, heeey! I didn't realky KNOWN about locs until a few years ago, and I also wish I would have done it sooner☺ omgosh, if I don't have my bonnet on, my hands will be ALLL up in my head😩😂 im soooo excited for your journey and don't forget to document your journey, even if you choose not to share, do it for yourself 🥰🥰 I appreciate you so much for stopping by channel and commenting ❤❤❤
I just love your locs. They are so beautiful. I watched your entire journey and they have come a long way. I started my journey in June, so I’ve made it to 5 1/2 months now. I would not change this for anything in the world; the freedom I got from it is amazing. I was so tired of having to comb my hair out, detangling, shedding… I was just over it. Thank you for sharing your journey and keep up the good work. BTW: HHS is so real! 😃
Dee-Dee, HI! Girl, thank you sooo much! You are almost half way to that One Year mark🥰 the freedom is SOMETHING, isn't it?! Everything you mentioned are just a FEW reasons why I loc'd my hair. I appreciate you so dang much for following my journey ❤❤❤
Hey Lena! Your braidout came out perfectly! And I love the added bump! Once your locs mature a bit more the shedding will stop. My have completely stopped and I'm 18 Months.
Ooooooh! Lena, that finished look is gorgeous! I understand the voice issue, because I retired from the teaching profession in June 2021. Thank you for sharing this video🌹🌹🤗
Your hair looks lovely. I’m also 11 months in and do experience a little shedding but that’s okay…I am thinking it is the cold weather that is causing it 🤦♀️. I’m from the Caribbean and traveled recently. While I was there my hair felt so light and looked fuller. My Loctician, who is also from the Caribbean told me the salt water is good for the locking process so I took a dip and left that salt in. Again, your hair looks great.
Hi Jodi-ann! Thank you so much☺ I've use sea salt in my hair and yes, it does make a difference! We're coming up on a year, girlie! Thank you so much for supporting ❤❤❤
7 months in & experiencing shedding. I was alarmed initially thinking it was breakage due to opened ends but my hair is flourishing. And your hair is progressing beautifully! Continue sharing, I love your videos!!
Hi Angela! Im thinking my shedding may be cause by several issues (meds, cold weather, HIHS), including what you stated😔 Thank you sooo much for visiting and commenting, I appreciate you ❤❤❤
It’s looking good. I haven’t done a successful braid out without rollers on the end. Love you hair and I feel you on being hoarse. Teaching takes the voice right out of you! 💕
Lena. This turned out very pretty 😍! And yes, I still shed. I contribute it to my ends that are still loose. Hopefully as your locs form, itll be less.
Your hair and braid out looks great!! I am 8months in and my loctitan told me to start using a conditioner on my hair in the winter because it’s so cold and dry and I can use a leave in condition as well. I use the Sisterlock moisture treatment mixed w/water. I use barrettes every time I braid and band as it felt like I was pulling on the ends with the rubber bands and I didn’t want to disturb any budding. Thanks so the update
Hi Caryn! Thank you so much! You know what....I DO have the SL moisture treatment and NEVER even opened the jar, smh....im going to try that. I appreciate you commenting ❤❤❤
Beautiful!🥰... your braid-out came out great! I love doing braid-outs now when I was a loose natural I could never get good results lol. I'm 13 months into my microlocs journey and I still have hand-in-hair syndrome so I get it 🤣
Thank you sooo much! Yes! My braid-outs were a mess as a loose natural because of how uneven my left side is😔 the HIHS is horrible! We're gonna get through it though🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I appreciate you always commenting ❤❤❤
Lena I love your channel and your locs. I'm 7 months into my microloc journey. It just took my hair down from 2 cornrows to braid and band for a wash tomorrow. I noticed some mild shedding. I figured it was due to the dry weather. I'm in the northeast and the air is very dry. The way I combat hand in hair syndrome is to wear braided styles. That is the only way I will not touch my hair and it keeps my locs from slipping when working out.
Awe, HI! Thank you sooo much! I will try putting cornrows my hair, it's just that my left side is so uneven that I think it'll look silly😔I appreciate you visiting and commenting, it means a lot to me ❤❤❤
@@LenasLovelyLocs1 You're always welcome. I had the same issue so my loctician gives me an asymmetrical style. Putting the larger braid on my "weaker", thinnerbside. So it doesn't look so sparse and there isn't much tension. I hope that helps. All your styles are gorgeous.
I’m at 10 months. I do experience a little shedding especially off of my ends which aren’t fully locked yet. I also can’t keep my hands out of my hair 😑 You’re hair is progressing beautifully.
Hi Kiana! I never thought about the meds making my hair shed (I take BP meds)🤔 those could be the culprit. Your 12 months will be here before you know it, girl! Thanks so much for commenting, I appreciate you ❤❤❤
Hi Vianey☺ that shrinkage is no joke, girl😔 your locs will begin to drop....sooo cliché, but we gotta trust the process 🥰🥰🥰 thanks so much for commenting ❤❤❤

@@LenasLovelyLocs1 That could definitely be it!! HBP can affect the hair tremendously.
