All "Stouts" are technically Porters, they are just Stout/stouter(Higher Alcohol) Porters. its a way to sell beer with the selling point of higher alcohol without actually saying "higher alcohol" lol. i.e. you will see beers with vaugue saying like "High Gravity" "Bold" etc which is just code for more booze basically.
Also, I believe Porters are brewed with malted barley & Stouts with un-malted but roasted barley
