I'm looking for a program that will allow me to expand the canvas size of a screenshot and then either drag another image onto the expanded canvas and/or make notes on it. Snagit does this, but its current version is so full of bells and whistles and is no longer intuitive to use, so I want a replacement for it.

Yeah I really like that the snagit editor becomes like a library of past captures. I guess Greenshot has a folder but seems clunkier to find captures from the last few days...have to browse a folder... less immediate, etc. Have you found a workaround for this?
This is the best. Better than Mac or PC options. I have it setup to PRINT SCREEN, select square, drop on desktop done. No Mac three finger salute. SUPER FAST.
Can we erase the existing lines? Can we draw continuous lines: at lease two lines. I need to add tick marks. These two are the only two more things I need to do in the Greenshot editor. Without these, I believe, Greenshot is user unfriendly.
I think, I got the things around. 1. Tick mark: I got to add tick marks (basically, using symbols). ☑ Copied in text. The only issue is to erase. 2. Erase: Do erase from within paint brush and get back to do the rest in the Greenshot editor. Hazel. But getting around. Therefore, if you have a better solution, please reply.
hello when i press the print page button it takes a screenshot as usual meaning i dont see the greenbox or anything related to greenshot, any suggestions?
does anyone know if it's possible for a screenshot (not full screen) to be captured and automatically saved to desktop? without having to preselect the "Save directly (using preferred file output settings)" from the dropdown menu. like on a Mac...but for Windows then?

This is so fucking stupid I have 2 monitors, one ultra wide and one normal 16:9. When I take a screenshot on the ultrawide and move the window over to my 16:9 monitor the image doesn't fucking scale along with the window. If you make a screenshot in snip and sketch and you resize the snip and sketch window the image resizes along with it this fucking program doesnt do that otherwise it would have been perfect...........
I've been googling for some time now and this feature has been requested since 2015 this is fucking ridicioulous how fucking hard can it be to have the exact snip and sketch tool but WITH THE ABILITY TO ADD TEXT???????? WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND A SOFTWARE LIKE THIS?????????? sorry im frustrated as fuck ive been trying to find a fucking software that does this for an hour wasting my fucking time god dammnit

Use the region option when screenshotting and set the parameters by dragging the crop lines.

Greenshot has stopped giving me notifications. How can I turn them back on? I checked in Preferences and it's enabled.
