i’m on a gap year right now after deciding not to go to uni last minute (starting this Sep inshaAllah). having a break between studies to reevaluate everything has rlly helped me know what i want. having time to think might give you the clarity you’re looking for too. doesn’t even have to be a whole year, the summer holidays are coming up and that’s time you can have away from uni to just think about what you really want out of life. i literally never comment on youtube vids but i have to say i understand your concerns about Cardiff (lived here my whole life and i feel the exact same way as you do) and hopefully now that you have more in-person sessions you’ll be able to find people that you can relate to and that genuinely makes living here a lot better. i really hope everything works out for you and that uni gets better, you’ve done so well to have even gotten this far!!
Thank you!! Yh, after first year is done, I’m going to do some evaluating and pray whether it’s something God wants me to continue/ complete. I also pray that you do well in your future with whatever you do! What did you apply to study at uni?
@@estherrwan Hi so sorry i’m replying so late, but I have only just seen your reply! Thank you so much for saying that I really appreciate it. and I’ve applied to study Chemistry at uni after soooo much debating with myself lmao
I'm glad you've decided to stay and try and stick it out! Cardiff is a great city for going out and about, I regularly go down there and would say it is in my top 5 cities in the UK! Whatever you decide to do Esther, you will ultimately be successful.
I wanted to watch this video again because it was a turbulent month for me because of moving to a new city and the motivation was not at the peak. I am glad that I can use not just this, but other videos to keep me on track.
I’m sorry to hear that - I understand what you’re currently going through, it’s really hard because you just feel out of place (imposter syndrome). But the Lord is with you - read Philippians 4:6-7 💛
I started college and it was so difficult as I feel like something uncertain is going to happen where I just feel hopeless. I just have to keep going. I want to go to university with the full of focus because I see the future aspects of what God can lead me to.
Hii, wishing you good luck and you’re so brave to staying! I’m currently in year 12 and would like to do either a law degree or a law with criminology degree. I know what criminology is but I’m not quite sure what the difference between those two degrees are in the sense of what I can do in the future. Could you please help me? I also like to write my notes rather than type them but I see a lot of uni students typing their notes, do you think writing my notes would be out of the question for a degree like law? 🥰
Hey, thank you :) Studying criminology looks at criminalisation( why people commit crimes, theories behind this etc.), social responses to crime and studying law looks at how a country defines what is lawful/ unlawful, how somewhat is held liable/ guilty for something. Writing your notes at uni is not completely out of the question - I’ve seen many first years using a pen and paper but the con of that is that if you don’t scan your notes, you have to flick through them to find a case study you may need. With digitisation written notes, you can just search your cases easily in your revision notes and makes things more handy. As a compromise, you could get a 2 in 1 laptop which can bring the best of both worlds to you!
@@estherrwan hello, I don’t completely understand what you mean by scanning my notes and how you can search for cases easily in your revision notes online rather than on paper. Not trying to be rude, just a genuine question :)
On your phone, you can usually take a photo of your handwritten notes and it can scan the handwriting and convert it into a pdf - usually work with an iPhone. If not, you can download apps that scan letters, notes/ documents for you! I’m gonna be making a video on it so be sure to stay tuned! On online documents, you can usually just press control F and search for the words/numbers you need which saves time instead of scrolling/ flicking through pages of notes !

Trust the process, your feelings towards university can definitely change
Exactly - feelings are deceptive sometimes!!
