@@naomicapinpin1197 You can curl your index fingers on both hands under the tines of the kalimba, and play the notes from below by flicking them upwards. Its difficult, but even more so with an accoustic kalimba. I hope this makes sense! ❤

Just purchased my kalimba and it is on the way! However, I often trim my thumb nails, so I am planning to get metal finger pick for playing. Is there any other suggestion?
I tried using a 3D plastic model to replicate my thumb nails and unfortunately, it's better to just use your nails because they don't make any sound. Using a metal or plastic object on the metal tiles will disturb the vibrations and the object you use will make vibrations of its own too. The sound will be weird 🥺

you have to use your index finger for the middle note :) i think april yang uploaded a video where you can see her playing, she uses her index finger too

@@sushier7948 I saw that movement too. tbh it seems complex and I don't think I'll be able to do so anytime soon. plus it'd be difficult to put index finger between especially when your kalimba has no such gap

you just play it normal and wait a bit. on piano for example you hold the note longer, but that's not possible on kalimba i think :D
