Carrots? Why carrots? How did this all begin?
Here follows the explanation of why VoicePlay's beatboxer Layne Stein has gotten the nick name "Carrot Lord" and why carrots keep showing up in their videos.
Clips have been found from a multitude of sources, including VoicePlay's RUclips account, various social medias of VP members and multiple RUclips sources, too many to list here.

Thank you for this! I often wondered if it wasn’t J’s irritation with the carrot that started the whole thing, but I couldn’t believe anybody would be crazy enough to start a whole thing just based on that one little episode. Obviously Layne is that crazy! His delight at that carrot sticking to the ceiling is so typical of him!

I've seen the clip before, but I always crack up when Eli pops into the screen at 0:56. I know there's only about an eight-inch height difference between them, but Eli seems so much shorter, especially when he and Layne make eye contact. :D
And at 1:41 - there's a moment in the original video, right before Layne's signature evil grin, where he has this look of sudden realization, and I can't tell if he planned it, or if 'oh boy, I can tease Geoff!' suddenly occurred to him. This whole thing is hilarious. 🥕

When seeing a carrot for the first time in a Voice Play video (before knowing the whole Carrot Lord thing) I was cheering because I too like carrots and it was weirdly random for me at that time. I did some carrot pranks on my own to a former friend, so I can totally relate.
