Security+ is a good introduction to cyber security concepts. However, you don't necessarily need to give the cert test for security+. There are other more prefered certs like OSCP, OSWE, Pentest+,etc.

I think everyone should do a degree and the simplest one is bca just do it this will be enough to step up you career in it field once you have entered it then do all certification related to cybersecurity
if you can "afford" btech then go for it..as btech cse gives you lots of advantages and exposure then BCA..as i'm doing Bca so i can tell you more insights of these course... if you want to pursue your carrier in cybersecurity then i would suggest you go for btech cse as they teach you core concepts like- networking,os,Csa,Dbms etc which is much needed for a cybersecurity geek..(but you have to learn by your self ,no one go in depth at colleges ) and if your mind get diverted between development and cybersecurity you have back-up of your btech degree...because btech is more preferable than Bca in the IT companies(for any role). but if you truly passonate and really want to do it..then go for any degree and give 100% and you can give oscp,ceh exams which is much recommended rather than these degrees.
Not necessary. But you have a degree in Btech Cs, BCA, Bsc In Computer Science. It will help you get a job more than others if you have the necessary hacking skills.

I would recommend a vm. If you are new to Linux environment just use a vm and you can try out some vulnerable VMs also to hack on.
