She was typecasted and always played dumb blonde. The only film where she is showing that she can act is her last one, The Misfits. Her acting is such that I feel sorry for her, she always had to pretend that she is way more stupid.

Is there anything else that already have been said about Marilyn. People always talk about her empty brain and the dumb blonde persona she played in some of her movie. She was more than that. She had talent for comedy, she did sing pretty well and even though never went to college she was very intelligent and sensitive. She was always looking for protection and love but many of the men in her life (I believe the only exception was Joe DiMaggio) only used her. Her insecurities and mental issues created her final demise. Above all SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN! She achieve after death an status that never had in life, SHE BECAME AN ICON

Correct about Joe D. He truly loved her, and they were a perfect match. Look at the list of who was not permitted by Joe at her funeral. You'll get a pretty good idea of who he considered to be her problems. I'd have to say, however, that she was an icon in life as well as death. Joe was an icon, period, and stills sets the standard for what it means to be a New York Yankee. One just has to view Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland as tragedies: they just don't come along like that very often.

@@waldolydecker8118 little on the thick side? Oh what an odd thing to mention, most men liked that anyway thats why they were so hooked to her, combined with that fabled baby accent she uses people loved that combination. Afterall most men had just loved leaving the era of the most opinionative women to ever live, 30's goddesses and their RICH dialects. You know the whole "your just a hyena, a no good imbecile one could ever lay eyes on". Switch that to "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it; honest!" Is pretty refreshing for men at the time. I won't lie, women had the world in the 1920's and 1930's, they were doing well for themselves, then the 50's came around and a lot of women were treating their husbands/lovers after war, being there for them, and that commodity unfortunately become a feature of the housewife at that point.

I think the true depth of Marilyn can be realized through the reading of her abbreviated autobiography which I highly recommend. From a sweet little girl, who was rejected, abused, unloved and unwanted, to an almost mythical icon, she became the most wanted person in the world. This was a magical little piece, brilliantly written and performed by two superstars. Enjoyed it!

I love all of Marylin. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful . She was a human being just like the rest of us. The film Blonde is just a piece of fiction. An artistic one at that. It’s just one portion of her life: her struggles leading to suicide. We have her work to remember her by. Let’s never forget that.

My favorite from her is from one of my favorite songs of 1954, and by jove it shows the modern fashion nature of the era (of course it was a heavily modern era in anything you can think of, but the largeness of the circle dress often covered up the more sleek modern wardrobes). I'll stop badgering on, the name is "Lazy". I'll provide the commodity of a link.
