Havent been around the channel in a while -loving the new set! Especially the lighting!!! Whoever made that decision is a genius. It totally gives you a different aesthetic feel from almost all of the RUclips I watch (certainly the cocktail channels). It almost gives you a slightly sultry vibe. Lean in Steve, lean in.
@@StevetheBartender_ I make it almost exactly as you do! I sometimes replace the orgeat with amaretto, but also reduce the amount of rum and cognac just a little bit. In Sweden, where I live, we tend to do most cocktails with 5 cl of “spirits”, which is slightly less than the “Anglo-American-commonwealth-standard” of 2 ounces (roughly 6 centiliters). And I usually serve it over one single big piece of ice, not to dilute it to much, but still keeping it cold and refreshing. 😍 PS. Love your channel/videos, been a fan for a long time 👍🏻
I have 2 of the original stainless shakers that I ordered when Elevated Craft was still in start-up funding mode. I've had them for a few years and they are outstanding.
Mode4n Trader vics recipe for single serve differs a bit.. It's 60ml light rum, 30ml Brandy/Cognac, 60ml Orange juice, 30ml lemon juice, and 1/2 oz Orgeat, though I prefer 3/4oz Orgeat in mine.
I think I tried the smugglers cove version. Cant remeber though. I dont have Congac but will sub with Brandy. And may try the gin version again. Cheers😊
Hey Steve. Simple syrup, Orgeat orange. Citrusy and sweet. Don’t think I’ve had a cocktail with Orgeat but thanks to you; know it’s almond syrup. Being this s sweet drink I’m certainly willing to try. Thanks so much. See you next video.
Hey Steve... Why omit the gin when you make such a good citrusy one that should go well in this drink? Also, I love using cobler-style shakers. I find them easier to use than the Boston style (which has seemed to dominate craft cocktails) especially when it comes to unlocking and double-straining. I hope to see more of them in use.
Hey Steve, Havana Club Rum isn't a Puerto Rico rum, is totally Cuban rum... maybe you bought it in Puerto Rico but there, they don't produce anything related to that rum... great cocktail by the way, thanks for the video
Not sure what you’re referring to. The video is less than 8 mins so there should be a maximum of 1 ad. Or are you referring to the use of the shaker? If so, this was not a paid sponsorship. I was gifted the shaker.
@@StevetheBartender_ many thanks for responding Steve. Yes I didn't mean the overlay ads, but the amount of talk about the shaker, the tumbler glass with measurements on it, the particular orgeat of the best brand and the "surfisidesip" with link - in total it felt quite overwhelming to me at least. I def interpreted it as paid sponsorship, good to hear I was wrong about the shaker.
@@mkb5743 the shaker was gifted (affiliate link used), the orgeat is great (and gifted) and the straws are awesome (affiliate link used). I only recommend something if I like it myself. I've turned down 80% of the sponsorship opportunities that have been presented to me. If it is paid, then I always say "thanks to our sponsor" AND mark the video as sponsored in the video settings on RUclips which then displays a sponsorship message in the top left of the video at the start. I'm very transparent IF it is sponsored. If I earn money from videos, then I can produce more / better videos (so paid sponsorship is a good thing). Otherwise, if you would prefer to support me on Patreon it will result in the channel being less reliant on sponsorships (and I would be hugely appreciative).
Yes, I know. You’ve misunderstood what I’ve said. I said at the start that the original recipe called for Puerto Rican rum.. then when I made the drink I said “your choice of rum, a lighter style rum, Puerto Rican, Cuban….”. I didn’t say “I am using a Puerto Rican rum.”

Third time's the charm as they say and I agree. Third time I've made this and I love it now, going a bit heavier on the Orgeat, around 10ml. Thank you Steve, you have the best bartender channel on youtube.
So you say this is the first time you've used their recipe, and then a few seconds later you say it's your favorite. I like Liber & Co, I buy their fassionola, but, I mean...cmon, at least edit that out lol
Yes, it's the first time I tried their orgeat (only minutes earlier, before filming). I did a comparison with 3 other orgeat bottles that I have... and I much prefer theirs. So no, I don't need to edit it out.

Where is your simple syrup bottle from?
Ordered one for my hubby for Father's Day!
@@benjamingray4488 I bought a pallet of them many years ago.. I can’t recall the name of the company sorry.

Only six ingredients, this is truly simple for a tiki drink
Hey, a new video! I love how you always have unique recipes that are still approachable in addition to standards. Cheers, good sir!
Thanks Jacob! Glad you enjoy my selection of cocktails that I share!
Refreshingly delicious!!! Love the Liber and Co orgeat as there is nice note of toasted almonds!

Yes and its getting to summer here in the states. Time for tiki drinks
Yeow! Summer tiki drinks :)
I’ve been searching all over for an insulated shaker. Cheers Steve!
Most welcome Aaron! They're pretty nice looking shakers!!

Steve throws the nicest shade: "That was average"
Is it me or does this cocktail shaker make less noise? Great video
bugger! I look for the shaker frosting up on the outside. Can't do that with that great looking shaker
Looks great Steve. What do you use for pebble ice please?
frozen water
@@PolPotsPieHole So funny…. I guess I meant does he have a domestic or commercial counter top pebble ice machine or does he use silicon trays.

Orgeat is great! Definitely try the Mai Tai with it!
@@trzynasty909 thanks. We certainly will. 🍹
I made a Mai tai with liquid alchemist orgeat recently and it was amazing.
Going up to the bar now so ask for this
You twisted my arm. I guess I'll have to make this one and the smugglers cove version tonight and compare them.
Could you invent a tiki thing based on blue powerade ?
Are you going to be doing any shots video to celebrate your 700 K subs milestone or not till 1 mill?😂 those shots videos are soooo funny haha
Yep! I've already filmed it - just need to edit and upload :)

Lol, I wasn’t paid by anyone 😂
I need to make some orgeat.
Do it Garlic Girl! 🎉
Curious, why is it called a scorpion? There was no ‘kick’ to it.
