Kolukkumalai Camp & Trek
The Eastern Beauty of Western Ghats
Nestled 2160Mtrs above sea level, Kolukkumalai is a sight to behold. A rugged bumpy road through tea plantations leads you to the top of this wonder. Kolukumalai is the world's highest organic and orthodox tea plantation expanding to about 500 acres with tea planted in around 200 acres. The rest is dense forests and grasslands providing a habitat to the wildlife.
Day 1: Check in @ 2pm
From Suryanelli our jeep will take you through a one hour (12km) off road drive to the campsite at Kolukkumalai. The rickety drive uphill slowly transitions from the Western side to Eastern side and is sure to get all your body parts in motion. After reaching the site, a small briefing about the camp will be given followed by tea and snacks. Once settled you would be taken on a small sunset trek to "Singapara" - the lion faced rock. On returning back, the campfire would be lit and dinner served. Overnight stay in basic/movable tents.
2.00 pm: pick up from Suryanelli and Jeep
ride to campsite 3.00pm: Arrival at campsite, tent allotment, camp briefing
4.30pm: Tea and snacks 5.30pm: Sunset trek
7.00pm: Campfire
8.00pm: Dinner
Day 2
A typical day at Kolukkumalai begins with the sunrise. You could either choose to trek up to Kolukkumalai peak or take a 10 minute walk from the campsite to view the sunrise. Some days the mist plays spoilsport, hiding the sun. After a hot piping breakfast, if you haven't trekked to Kolukkumalai peak for sunrise then this is the time for it. A 360 degree view of the land below is sure to entice you. This is then followed by a visit to the 100 year old working orthodox tea factory. Once back to the campsite, check out and jeep ride back to Suryanelli were you will be dropped.
5.00am: Wakeup call
5.30am: Walk to sunrise view point/ trek to
Kollukumalai peak
8.30am: Breakfast 10.00 am: Kollukumalai Tea factory tour
12.00pm: Check out from camp, Jeep ride to
Suryanelli

Jeep charges - 5000
( Jeep charge 2500 for 6 guest , we have 2 day jeep required for pickup and drop so it will be 5000 for 6 guest)
If share available on camping date per head rate will be around - 800 for jeep pickup and drop
(If 4 guest only coming and no share available, jeep rate will be 5000/4 - 1250)
