I installed mine last week and for the recirc clamp it's much easier to lock it with a vice grip because the needle nose can slip and it's very hard to squeeze them under the intercooler 👍🏼
Installed mine today and my 2019 Sti is having a rough idle threw me code p0108 map sensor circuit high input … now trying to figure out wtf went wrong
@@alexthesaxman6219 problem was fixed easily same day… maf sensor went bad got a new one from autozone and everything went back to normal definitely scared me for a little. kept an eye on my access port and reflashed the ecu everything working perfect and the bpv sounds amazing would still recommend 100% after driving around for 30m
so use the gasket? In the grimmspeed video it’s not showing them using the gasket but then this does. Also my BPV is not doing the clutter but instead just sounding like a normal BOV. Double checked the install with a mechanic and some friends that have it. Might have a defected product
It’s Better quality than the stock, the stock one has boost leaks. The Grimm speed bypass valve is better quality and has no boost leaks. So you can upgrade but you don’t have too, it’s mainly a more reliable part than the stock

@@bryetube86 there is a possibility that you will see a slight increase in boost, but only if you had a boost leak from the stock. That I believe, I’m not too sure but that’s what I believe. I can’t really speak on that part bc I don’t have one for mine, all Ik is the quality part sorry.

My WRX is basically stock, you don't need a tune or anything for this BPV right? I am thinking of getting one. I want to make sure I don't void my lame ass warranty
You don’t need a tune for that bypass valve. It was made to be more durable than the stock bypass valve. If you read the specs while purchasing it, it will tell you no tune required. Hope that helps 👍🏼

put it on my 2021 STI and got an extra 100 HP then woke up and realized I was dreaming
I think before you put a new gasket you probably need to clean the surface on intercooler first to make sure no residues...
A nice and easy install. A great video brother stay safe.
I would recommend, crushing the top of the factory bpv first to increase the spring pressure in the valve before replacing it

The two screws in the bpv elbow are a pain to try and get out. Mine are frozen solid in there. Tried heat and pb blaster.
Got it eventually. I just had it hit it with the right sized purse.
why would the GS BPV 08-14wrx /05-09 lgt not fit the oem tmic?? im confused as it looks identical to the oem bpv.

I am wondering the same thing. Seems like it has an oring so should not need the gasket. I just emailed grimmspeed for confirmation.
QUESTION: with bypass valves on a Subaru sti 2019 would you want to get a tune for it? Or is it fine to leave it the way it is.
If it's full recirculation it's not needed as it's doing the exact same as stock. Just higher quality part
