@OldWomanfromtheMountains I like to do that. Especially when I know or suspect someone is lying to me. Unfortunately, a person I love has been lying to me for quite a while. It took a family tragedy for me to realize what this person was/is doing. I have had to put this person on Trust But Verify. And all I have discovered were more lies. The thing is, these are lies that don't need to be told. The truth would be much better. When I confront this person, more lies trying to convince me the other lies were the truth. And if I do the silent part, more lies are added until even this person can't keep track of any excuse they may give. I have known this person since the day I was born. So far, I don't need to expose the lies. I really don't want to have to expose this person. There are other people who have caught on and others like I was for so very long, that believe everything this person states. I don't want them to be hurt by the lies, however this is going into legal matters. I will not lie for her in front of a Judge. Because the truth is more than enough to suit her purposes. I've tried to talk to her about it only to have her lie again. So I do use the silent approach. In Court, I won't.

He committed DV and resisting officer (he plead guilty), there are consequences to actions. He was facing felony charges. Much respect for Atty White for owning up to her 'ineffective counsel' issue. When it comes to potentially destroying a family, she stepped up and is accepting her mistake. I hope it worked out for them.
I'm not so sure about PD Apple asking whether the second hearing will be in person at about 19:10 ... that might seem to be a simple, logical, and innocuous question, but what she was really doing [in effect, at least, if not by intention] is making sure that her client can go straight to jail, rather than getting to turn himself in.
I agree. Most defense attorneys, if needing to clarify, would have done so by specifically requesting that the hearing be virtual, to make it perhaps a little less likely that the client would be remanded. That said, she may know that Simpson doesn't really play games on that score, so if he's going to remand, nothing's stopping that.
@@-HeyLyd- Yeah. Or try this: maybe she was worried that, if Simpson were to revote on the spot, if he weren't there in person, he wouldn't have turned himself in and then her client problems would get worse. A defense atty isn't supposed to do something like that, even if she believes that it would be in the clients best interest long term, but maybe she did it anyway, because he might not turn himself in and/or he'd go out and slam 26 O'Douls in an hour again. tee hee (In other words, maybe she was trying to prevent her client from lying some more.) FYI: Simpson is entirely correct that you can't get to .06% BAC by drinking .5% ABV beers. There are studies on this.
I wonder why the defense lawyers just sit there and let their clients talk on and on and on... Those "non alcoholic " beers actually have some alcohol in them. It says it right on the can/bottle and box they come in. 20-30 beers at a time? Bull.
Mr Mote is admitting things in court that he SHOULD NOT be speaking about. Sometimes the Defendant is their own worst enemy! “Yes, Your Honor. No, Your Honor”
These frequent fliers that have been in court for years, sure seem to have trouble with the public defenders. The "if you can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you" lawyers. Swear it seems like if you PAY for one, you can choose who and how they represent you. If its for free, you are kind of limited.
Judge Simpson: we can provide transportation if you have a problem... I don't think you want us to do that. Lovonty : huh? Judge Simpson : Nothing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ms White seems to think that withdrawing the plea resolves the matter ... it doesn't if the plea is withdrawn then the felony charge is re-instated and has to go to trial if found guilty at trial not only MAY he face deportation but also prison time. Ms White you were not ineffective you were careless and should have known the plea deal would effect his immigration status.
Immigration status doesn't have anything to do with it. Defendant enters a plea and suffers the consequences. Why should an illegal wife beater get more consideration than a legal citizen wife beater?
@@tracy7612 Did you even listen to the argument??? The immigration status is very relevant the crime he plead to could mean his deportation it certainly means that he will be refused US citizenship. RE Why should an illegal wife beater get more consideration than a legal citizen wife beater? REPLY Can you tell me the difference between a legal wife beater and an illegal wife beater ?????? The non citizen resides in the US at the pleasure of the government and there is a greater onus on them to obey the laws. They are made well aware of in the green card application.
We're the system and you'll do it our way buddy. Ive never seen judge Simpson get upset at someone who has a reason to be upset and stressed but, aint a lot he can do about the public defender ignoring his calls.
This is not an excuse for Mr Shannon, but according to FDA & NLEA labeling regulations, a beverage must contain less than 0.5% ABV to be considered non-alcoholic. In general a normally healthy individual can process 1 oz of pure ethanol per hour and not have a change in bac. Assuming a 12 oz can at 0.49 % ABV, a can would have 0.06 oz ethanol/can. So to hit the 1 oz mark you would need to drink 15 - 18 NA beers. The gov’t of Southern Australia published a paper declaring 1 oz of alcohol would change a normal persons BAC by 0.01 - 0.03%. So, it is possible for NA beer to cause changes in BAC, but you really have to be dedicated to get there.

@@-HeyLyd- I think he's really just worried about the precedent it could set if it goes a certain way. idk the ins and outs of that but I know certain things in law can have ripple effects.
@@EbonMaster Yes, precedent is important; as I said, the hearing is necessary. But his apparent annoyance at her raising the issue is uncalled for. Set the hearing, hear the evidence, and then decide. What's the point of arguing and head-shaking once you've said you "have no problem" holding the hearing? She'll bring her evidence and it will be whatever it is.
Wow, Judge rarely raises his voice. 😊
Attorney White would drive me nuts. Take a breather lady.
Ooooo you pissed the judge off
Great video! Please keep us posted on the Ginther Hearing case that was quite interesting.
I only drink because other people around me drink. 30 beers per day? And he has a job? Had a job?
yeah...tellin judge ya hang with heavy drinkers...freaking brilliant!!
He claimed 20-30 non-alcoholic beers. But like the Judge pointed out he'd have to drink those in the time it takes to drink 1 beer in order to keep those levels of alcohol in his system. That's friggin ridiculous. He knows he's lying his butt off. 🙄
Am I the only one that expected this clip to start with "LEEEEROY JENKIIIIIINS!!!"?
Great compilation OSG!! I got to see some that I didn’t even see live.
I'm not sure who get the worst defendants Simpson or Desanti
Probably Judge Simpson, though Judge DiSanto gets some real oddball cases as well.
I think every judge has to deal with this type of Cr@p. Judge S & D just allow us to see.
I like the 'Quickies' Squishy. Thanks
Case #5 (con't) - Judge Simpson is so informed on many subjects! Treatment didn't work. 6:00 pm TODAY! Judge doesn't listen to excuses.
WOW !! Oct. 5th is going to be interesting !
I feel like im waiting for Dave Chappelle to just bust out as Judge Simpson!
Much respect for Atty White for owning up to her 'ineffective counsel' issue. When it comes to potentially destroying a family, she stepped up and is accepting her mistake. I hope it worked out for them.
Case #6 - Deportation? Great PD, tells the Judge how to decide. Judge needs ALL info to make a decision. Be careful, defendant may run.
Some really interesting cases OSG❤❤, as always, and sime really satisfying ones too!
Another good one OSG. Very interesting without fireworks. 😁
I did this when I was a mayor of a city of 37,000 LOL
A defense atty isn't supposed to do something like that, even if she believes that it would be in the clients best interest long term, but maybe she did it anyway, because he might not turn himself in and/or he'd go out and slam 26 O'Douls in an hour again. tee hee (In other words, maybe she was trying to prevent her client from lying some more.)
FYI: Simpson is entirely correct that you can't get to .06% BAC by drinking .5% ABV beers. There are studies on this.
I wonder why the defense lawyers just sit there and let their clients talk on and on and on...
Those "non alcoholic " beers actually have some alcohol in them. It says it right on the can/bottle and box they come in.
20-30 beers at a time? Bull.
I appreciate Attornry Rita White's integrity.
No hats in court people
When I was a teen, I wanted to be a lawyer. A pretend court exercise in social studies cured me of that. Bullet dodged.
The Filip couple need to drop that lawyer ASAP
Yay first to like!! Love your channel OSG!! TY for all your uploads x 🇬🇧
luv it...osg tv!!
Yes. As with many things that cost money in our society, that's how it works.
Pay the price when you break the law
Case #3 - DCS does not remove or keep a child from a family unless ordered to protect the child.
Ginther hearings are rough!!
Judge Simpson: we can provide transportation if you have a problem... I don't think you want us to do that.
Lovonty : huh?
Judge Simpson : Nothing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He wants to turn himself in later so he can have one last bender
Ms White seems to think that withdrawing the plea resolves the matter ... it doesn't if the plea is withdrawn then the felony charge is re-instated and has to go to trial if found guilty at trial not only MAY he face deportation but also prison time.
Ms White you were not ineffective you were careless and should have known the plea deal would effect his immigration status.
and thats what the judge was trying to tell her but i really couldn't say it out right
Immigration status doesn't have anything to do with it.
Nobody gets deported.
1:33 the look on her face when he said "public fender lawfirm"!!!
We're the system and you'll do it our way buddy.
Ive never seen judge Simpson get upset at someone who has a reason to be upset and stressed but, aint a lot he can do about the public defender ignoring his calls.
Drinking O’Douls has O.4% alcohol content.
I think they need to make the rules clear about appearing by zoom in court in a letter or via their attorney, this guy is taking the absolute P**s here. Walking around shopping and a hat and hoodie on . They should be slapped with an automatic fine for being dressed inappropriately or get a contempt charge. We have people lounging in bed , slouching in chairs, smoking god knows what sometimes, wandering around the house or outside and the attitude is unbelievable, it may be zoom but it is court
*Naltrexone does not prevent anyone from feeling the effects of alcohol** In studies, it has only shown to decrease cravings and some euphoric effects with alcohol.
But zero and Heineken zero doesn't have alcohol. O' douls has a little but it wouldn't cause a bac that high.
Short answer: No. Longer answer: Hellllllllllllll Noooooooo
Very interesting. OSG making us learn.
Case #5 - didn't retest on bad test, another bad test, and then another, missed test, and then another bad test? Does he think the Court is ignorant? See you at 3:00 o'clock, get affairs in order.
37:20 if anything, surely its the 1st immigration lawyer who was ineffective not the lawyer requesting the hearing. The lawyer we saw went over & above trying to protect her client.
I know they are in trouble and in court, but i do feel bad for defendants that have yet to see their PD. Just my opinion
Mr. Shannon just admit you got a big drinking problem
Nobody ever takes their hats off unless specifically asked to do so. Zoom court is treated way too casually.
Mr. Shannon 100% was butt-chugging bud zero. Just needed more time again.
Re the Filip case: it seemed to me the judge was saying he needed more info. The info exists but is protected by attorney /client confidentiality which the attorney said she was not prepared to waive. Couldn't Mr. Filip agree to waive confidentiality in regards to the immigration advice to get past the judge's concerns?
