Uncle Mike! Flown a time or two with you in/out of Bandahan in Mindanao when I was a kid. Great memories. Loved that plane. especially the way it would come in so steep and sink onto our 900 foot runway. Great to see you still flying.
It's incredible, I like Helio Courier because every day landed in my town where I born in Sucúa Ecuador an amozonic town. this aircraft probably flies for SAM Servicio Aéreo Misional from the Salesians Catholic. So it's nice to see one more time this aircraft in this video all an history...
What is the small rectangular panel on top of the main instrument panel that has the flip tabs? I got to fly in a JAARS Courier years ago at a small grass strip fly-in but did not get to ask the pilot about it. I've not seen this small panel in any other Courier I've seen up close nor in any other GA aircraft I've has the opportunity to ride in. Were I a pilot with the wherewithal to own my own plane, a Courier (or the ultimate, a turbine Stallion) would be my choice.

Great airplane with an even greater pilot! Mike is a good and trusted confidante. I am blessed to know him and call him a friend.
I want one, several of my childhood friends flew these for JAARS
Love the Helio! Thanks for the virtual ride.
Great uncle was a demo pilot (Ralph R.). You may have met him. I was about 5 yrs. when he first flew me around. I still remember that.

I have about 60 hours in a 1967 H-295. It was a handful but a lot of fun :)
I have flown in this very plane with Dave Ramsdale. We were in Smoketown, PA,
Never flew in the courier but I have many jumps out of the Stallion back when there were still some flying. Definitely a work horse.

I worked on several Helios at Aero Pacific in Oceanside California in the 1980s
Is that a 400hp Lycoming ?
No checklist?
Or not. I posted before reading description. I thought the pilot had downloaded video. Good video though.
Why no more production of these planes...???? Phone no.???
Never feel sorry for anyone that owns an airplane.
