What is the small rectangular panel on top of the main instrument panel that has the flip tabs? I got to fly in a JAARS Courier years ago at a small grass strip fly-in but did not get to ask the pilot about it. I've not seen this small panel in any other Courier I've seen up close nor in any other GA aircraft I've has the opportunity to ride in. Were I a pilot with the wherewithal to own my own plane, a Courier (or the ultimate, a turbine Stallion) would be my choice.
Is that a 400hp Lycoming ?
Why no more production of these planes...???? Phone no.???
No checklist?
I have flown in this very plane with Dave Ramsdale. We were in Smoketown, PA,
Never flew in the courier but I have many jumps out of the Stallion back when there were still some flying. Definitely a work horse.
I want one, several of my childhood friends flew these for JAARS
Uncle Mike! Flown a time or two with you in/out of Bandahan in Mindanao when I was a kid. Great memories. Loved that plane. especially the way it would come in so steep and sink onto our 900 foot runway. Great to see you still flying.
Love the Helio! Thanks for the virtual ride.
Never feel sorry for anyone that owns an airplane.
I have about 60 hours in a 1967 H-295. It was a handful but a lot of fun :)
I worked on several Helios at Aero Pacific in Oceanside California in the 1980s
It's incredible, I like Helio Courier because every day landed in my town where I born in Sucúa Ecuador an amozonic town. this aircraft probably flies for SAM Servicio Aéreo Misional from the Salesians Catholic. So it's nice to see one more time this aircraft in this video all an history...
Or not. I posted before reading description. I thought the pilot had downloaded video. Good video though.
Great uncle was a demo pilot (Ralph R.). You may have met him. I was about 5 yrs. when he first flew me around. I still remember that.
Great airplane with an even greater pilot! Mike is a good and trusted confidante. I am blessed to know him and call him a friend.
No issues except your outta goddamn control
Miles Eston, trying to find the limit during early runs on a cold track ... Shit Happens. BTW, I’m usually on the verge of outta control during autocross. That’s how I get quick times.
I was heading that way to race that Monday. Kind of glad I didn’t go. Doesn’t look like you could do a whole lot with that much water on the track.
Steve Hanik it’s like ice...
I was there just 2 weeks after this! I have known Fred for years, I used to test out there until it just got too bad for a kart. He had us out to do a surface test on the repave with the Kart. Take a look: ruclips.net/video/5rQ8s4YnYHk/видео.html If you are local, there will be a 3 day race event for Karts May 17-19 2019.
Hey what roll bar you running!?

Hi, I am planning to attend my first auto cross event with ascc in Salem. Any tips or advise for a total noob ?
Youngstown Riders Yes, read the intro to autocrossing on the ASCC web site to prepare your car and yourself. After that show up and have fun. If you want to be competitive it will help immensely if you get some quality instruction right off the bat before you develop poor driving habits. We’re hopefully scheduling a school 4/29. Go to it and let your instructor drive your car, or ride along in their car. Nothing is as eye opening as your first autocross ride along. You’ll see what late braking is and how to carry speed max through the course. Finally, try to always arrive early and course walk with people who have more experience than you. Good luck!
Nice :)
This was possibly the best 10 minutes of my entire summer :)
