Did not seem to be a masterclass in gear placement but you certainly made it fun and gnarly for yourself and pushed on through! First gear placement looked like was due about 25 seconds in by reaching up (not placing at your own navel). The self-analysis at 9.10-ish was spot on
You should really fix the sling when you extend it and a girth hitch happens, if it cinches on the gate and you whip you could easily break the gate off the carabiner.
I’m I wrong or did you only place one piece of gear just before the crux only after inspection 🧐 Does the guidebook not say that the crux is before the crack? Looks awesome! Great job! Did you experience any drag from not extending the sling before the overhang?
When you start to learn crack climbing, also practice un-jamming your hands/fingers/feet quickly. Like you imagine, it would be bad to fall and have a body part stuck in the crack still but it's not too hard to get out fast with a little practice.
So much goodness in this video!

Yes, I also encourage everyone else to not travel to these popular climbing areas that I want to hit. It's a matter of public health.
The starting "scramble" and the last few moves to get to the anchor were the cruxes

I didn’t know the crux was before the crack!
Nope, no drag!
Sometimes it's just more fun to not read the route description. Take it in for what it is.
Wow, that belayer has wicked good aim at 1:24 .
I know, like did the wind get a hold of it? Jesus
Didn't help that he was trying to belay from the parking lot.
I've thrown a few but a few more silly looking
What happens when you’re feet slip, and you have an arm, or a finger wedged in a crack?
Unfortunately... exactly what you think happens. No Bueno.
@@bradfordLburns Ouch, just another reason I would not try this.

Who else thinks indian creek is sport climbing?
I bet you could find one in your nearest mega gym
@@bman6065 The closest climbing gym to me has cracks nearly identical to ones in indian creek (with less crowds than indian creek 😂😂)
The breathing noises stress me out
Sorry I’ll be sure to hold it next time 😉
Hardest I've ever seen someone try on one of the creeks easiest lines
😂😂
I hate go pro videos!
