Jess was never really rude to Rory, he just lacked communication. Even when Rory kissed Jess whilst being in a relationship with Dean, he respected her wishes and never told Dean despite the whole town getting on to him. He only defended himself. His character was always real but I guess people can't handle the truth.
lol "Someone prepared deviled eggs to throw at my car???" "Maybe it was the guy from the garden department...." Hahaha. One of the greatest episodes ever.
That being said, that doesn't mean I didn't love them individually. I loved each one of them at each stage of her life because they sort of paralleled her life and her own changes. I think Dean was the perfect first boyfriend that everybody wishes they had, Jess was the sexy brooding complicated guy that everyone, at some point, falls in love with; and Logan was the seemingly perfect package that wasn't, who was as confused about life as we all are when we reach a certain age.
lol you guys missed the part when she said "oh and by the way you left your bra on the back seat." Jess slowly looked back back just in case.. hilariousss
@silverwindsmoon Jess was NOT a jerk to Rory. He was rude to Lorelai at first because that's the first time they met & he obviously a messed up kid. He changed tho. Anyone could tell that he loved Rory, more than Dean or Logan ever did. &I hated Dean way before Jess - Jess is sarcastic and witty and sure, maybe a bit rude sometimes but not mean. But, for example, if you see Dean when Rory doesn't say I love you back - he was SUCH a jerk to her. Yeah maybe he was hurt, but he was just plain MEAN.
Rory was going to find the way anyway, she already knew she was getting lost and was getting sick of her lifestyle. Jess was only the wake up call. None of those guys were right for her in my opinion.
@XshamosasX i'm amused though how you can see a reason for jess' behavior & can't see how rory & jess tryst as the reason for dean's. dean got weird after rory lied repeatedly about feelings for jess. granted that was rory's doing but jess wasn't innocent. so in s2, what, where they supposed to be friends? LOL. jess came in w/an attutide & took it out on everyone around him. jess grew up in s7, not a minute before. i think younger women think that bad boy crap is cute & masks deep love.
@silverwindsmoon the second time he ditched her was rory's own fault. it's not like she said anything back or tried to stop him, or even tried to contact him. Rory asked him what he had to say to her, & he replied honestly. he was scared she didn't feel the same way, so he left. &wow, did you even watch season 2? he kept her bracelet because it made him feel close to her or the like, he didnt know it was Dean's. when he saw how upset Rory was over it, he gave it back. he didn't treat Luke like
@silverwindsmoon He did at the very beginning. Then he became more considerate, although they did have the usual fights. And whatever, you're fighting a lost cause honey. Most people agree that Rory and Jess were meant to be together. Amy Palladino wrote his character to be the one for her. So you can twist the truth as much as you want, I don't really care.
Jess wasn't just the wake up call. There was a reason Jess was the only one who could get through to her about Yale - even Lorelai couldn't do that, and Logan didn't even try, he almost encouraged it. In your opinion, no one was right for her, in my opinion, Jess was always right for her.
@XshamosasX so which of the 2 times he ditched rory proved he loved her more than dean & logan? how about keeping her jewelry; was that how he showed he loved her? how about treating everybody--including his own uncle who was helping him--who meant something to her, like crap? when you love someone, there are just things your feelings don't allow you to do. he acted like a lil boy pulling pigtails in school--toddlers show affection like that, not teens.
@silverwindsmoon his change didn't come late - he changed through the entire 2nd season. when Rory told him to be nicer to her mom, he made an effort. &yeah, it is because he WAS messed up. what matters is that he tried to become better, & he did. he always cared about Rory & did all these little things for her - not big gestures like Dean or Logan. & PLEASE. Dean was just being stupid & insecure. Rory was nothing but nice to him & he YELLED at her and insulted her. Being hurt was no excuse.
@silverwindsmoon Sorry, I get a bit into these things. Well, I have seen quite a few polls actually and RUclips comments are also helpful with these 'statistics'... although how reliable they are, I don't know. But I do know Jess was supposed to end up with Rory at the end, but they couldn't because Milo Ventimiglia quit the show.
@loganandroryforever IMO dean got possessive when jess became an issue and that was rory's fault. it became painfully obvious when she got into jess & dean got hurt so was tryning desperately to hold her attention--knowing he was losing her. he was never posssive before she started ignoring him & judging him because she was comparing him to jess. dean coulda been good for her but i like her & logan--he made her grow up (some).
@XshamosasX sooooo it's ok for him to disrespect her mom (& it wasn't just the 1 time either) because he'd just met her or because he "was a messed up kid"? i know this is a tv show but neither is a good reason & being "a messed up kid" makes him worse bf potential. his change came waaaaay late.dean got his feelings hurt--tell someone you love them & get that reaction, see how you feel. dean wasn't habitually rude or mean. jess acted like a james dean wannabe, theiving, stalker; puhleeze.
@silverwindsmoon like crap actually - they had actually become close later on. & who was the one who convinced Rory to go back to college? Who encouraged her dreams and understood her? Mind you, Dean was the one who cheated on his wife and got overprotective and controlling and just acted like a jerk. And in the 3rd season, DEAN was the one who initiated all the fights, not Jess. It's so obvious Jess loved Rory the most & was the best guy for her... 80% of GG fans agree. And so does ASP.
@XshamosasX he didn't treat luke like crap? seriously? were we watching the same show? they 'became close later on' doesn't negate the crap-treating part. let's not re-write history.
this is so stupid. rory was the one who wanted ppl not to blame jess about the accident and now she’s mad at him for buying a car like a year after the accident? are you freaking kidding me? they both played a part in that accident happening, she was the one who told him to keep driving, which is exactly what she would have said a year earlier. the lack of consistency here bothers me. and also the treatment of jess for making a mistake that wasn’t even completely his fault. he can buy a car get tf over yourself.
Okay I get that. But Jess was more than just that. So yeah, Jess was messed up & rude & could be a jerk in seasons 2 & 3. But he grew up (in s6 but he also changed a lot for Rory in the early seasons). And I think that's why everyone loves Jess so much - he grew up to be the guy we all knew he could be if he would just "stop shaking it around", in Rory's words. He fulfilled his potential. & then, with their chemistry & their connection & the way they influenced one another, imo R&J were perfect.
@loganandroryforever because Jess was a jerk to everyone--including rory most of the time. I know he had "issues" but he was immediately rude to Lorelai which, if he cared at all for rory, I think he should've respected her mom & her if no one else. Instead he was sulky & sullen & ran away from everything.
A guy dragging her down? Did you even watch the show? Jess was the one who encouraged her dreams. He was the one who got her back to Yale and on the right path. Logan was a terrible influence on her, and Dean could never match her intellectually. Jess was the only one who could do that. He helped her for the better.
That's so mean to throw eggs at someone's car. I feel really bad for Jess at the this moment. As much as i like Rory, she shouldn't treat Jess like this
@XshamosasX ASP & 80% of fans (wherever that stat came from) will not sway me. to each their own. i've got a feeling it's a generational thing; there's no way i'd have tolerated his behavior at that age, nor would my mother. anyone who treated me & mine like crap--i don't care their sob story--would've been sent on their way ti they grew up. rory was an idiot on several occasions; she treated every but jess--the one who earned it most--like crap, usually for jess & got dumped 2x for her effort
Jess was never really rude to Rory, he just lacked communication. Rory is crazy about Jess and she deviled egged his car, what a strange way to tell that person you like them lol
"Don't give me lip!" ; "She's too nice to complain about her foot elements!" lol Lane is too funny in this scene!
"Someone prepared deviled eggs to throw at my car?!"
Oh, poor Jess. That's quite an insult. Lol.
definitely the best mother/daughter moment ever.
lol "Someone prepared deviled eggs to throw at my car???" "Maybe it was the guy from the garden department...." Hahaha. One of the greatest episodes ever.
This is my favorite episode
The bra thing was awesome!
Thank you for having this! I've wanted to devil egg someone's car since seeing Rory do it! 😈🍳🚗
Someone gave me 3 deviled eggs today. I really wish I could egg someone's car! Can't, though...♿
This has to be one of my top favorite scenes EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My guess is that there actually was Shane's bra in the back.

@ladykatrina70 rory's face is priceless ahahahahah
@loganandroryforever IMO dean got possessive when jess became an issue and that was rory's fault. it became painfully obvious when she got into jess & dean got hurt so was tryning desperately to hold her attention--knowing he was losing her. he was never posssive before she started ignoring him & judging him because she was comparing him to jess. dean coulda been good for her but i like her & logan--he made her grow up (some).
