Oooooo Stovies 😊 I used to have it made with sausage, onions and potatoes all cut up into cubes and oxo stock cube. Oh and the day after was stovie toasties 😊😋
Hi Cheryl. My name is Kevin, moms maiden name Gorrie. I live across the puddle, in British Columbia. My mince and tatties never tasted like mom's, until I watched your video. Now every time my son walks in he says "it smells like Nan's house. 😊 be I love your recipes. I love your videos. But, are you shy? Not enough video of you. Just talking hands. LoL. You have a pretty face, lovely voice, and an amazing accent. Your meals of the week always inspire me. Thank you. ❤
Aw that's so lovely to hear...and thank you for watching and your kind comments. Yes, always been a bit shy 😄 but I'm on a mission this year to get on camera 😂
@@WhatsForTea I love watching your videos. All the way from Nigeria. Am a Nigerian that loves trying different cultural foods. Do kindly list out recipes for the meals for non Scottish like myself that would like to try out new meals posted. Thank you ❤
Lovely meals Cheryl. The carbonara & your chicken dinner today with the sautéed potatoes looked so nice , & yes a change to have something different instead of gravy. Always look forward to your meals of the week. Hope your slimming world is going OK & you still managing to eat some nice food
A nod from Australia to Mr. What's For Tea and skipping the vinegar on fish & chips. Much prefer lemon myself. The kids in the chippy usually look at me like I'm from another planet, but I reckon the only thing malt vinegar is good for is boiling eggs :)
I love watching your Sunday videos! I clicked on the link to watch the Stovies video from about 5 years ago, and I also searched and found your video for "Simple & easy Scottish oatcakes" because they look delicious and aren't common here in the U.S. It was lovely to see your face, and Jasper's as well, in the closing scenes of those videos! Hugs and thank you!
Cheryl got me making a Newfie version of oatcakes and they are delightful. Haven't had them in yonks before because sadly most of our Celt heritage cooking was lost. I'm only 3rd generation American
Good afternoon, you are right on time. It's a very dull day in the Northeast US, but you just brightened up my day. Everything looks great 👍 👌 Oh no, no beans this week? You are definitely slipping. Have a great week!

Wow Cheryl , I could move in tomorrow , my bags are packed LOL , first had Stovies , back at Hogmanay 2019 , when I was over at my caravan at Ryan Bay with the activities at the Club House , two meals were provided FOC and all the wonderful entertainment , spent the week with my best pal Roly , had sooooo much laughter and banter that week , brought him over a 25 year old bottle of Bushmills Black Bush Whiskey amongst other more practical pressies , but unfortunately lost him nearly a year ago when he passed April 2023 , he was a great guy , one of life's true gents , I met him through a simple act of kindness to me when a chore had become so difficult for me due to my Polymyalia , I am surrounded by gifts he bought me that week , which I shall never forget , great memories , his spirit lives on in my heart always , your video Cheryl just brought it all back , over in Belfast we do a very similar Irish Stew made with mince beef , although traditionally it is made using Lamb or Mutton , yours looks scrummie !!! RIP Roly ❤
Meals of the week never disappoints. I love seeing your Slimming Meal options. I've got 48 more pounds to loose so every bit of inspiration helps. I've lost 40 since last August. The west coast drive video is so pretty. Shared everywhere I could. Start adding your tik tok link here too. 😋 Love ya.
I love beetroot too. Used to buy Baxters Baby Beets and still do when home for a visit. Love them with a pork pie. I now buy pickled beets from my local farmers market here in the US.
There is no shame that you love beans🤷♀️ We grew up with them as well and were Italian. Back in the day in Canada there wasn’t the choices for after school snacks. My mom would always buy them the tomato variety. With toast. Still delicious 🎉🎉🎉I also love your nails 🫶💐🌹👌👌👏👏
My dr. said my cholesterol is a little bit high so I'm trying to figure out ways to lower it without having to deprive myself, lol. I have a very big sweet tooth.
I must track down these Aldi beef dripping chips. They look so good nestling alongside that lovely pie! Another great selection of different meals and even when it's something quick like the Kievs, it's good to be reminded that you can buy these. Ditto the enchilada kit! I always get bogged down in buying the same things. I do love pickled beetroot myself with beef dishes. We always have it with cottage pie etc. too. It just adds a little sharpness to the richness of the beef. A great week's meals!
We have Aldi's here where I live but I don't think they have anything that looks that good. I live in the deep south US and would love to find those items that you cook. Especially those beef fries. But, we do have a huge selection of baked beans. I wish I could fix you a southern version of baked beans. We serve it with BBQ pork and cold potato salad. Oh and of course sweet iced tea. I may head to Aldi tomorrow just to check. Thank you for your channel.

I do hope you take both corn and mashed potato in the same bight? Total Midwestern thing to do--especially with fried chicken or chicken fried steak or fried pork chops!
Sorry, I meant to wish you a Happy Burns Night but my Welsh roots were horrified that I'd completely forgotten it's also St Dwynwen's day too. What a 'geneth bach ddrwg' I am!! I just wish we could get a haggis here in Tasmania, just to try it, but no such luck as yet!

Your stovies look lovely and I'm going to give them a try, as I always cook mine with steak lorne (fried or grilled and added five minutes before plating) rather than mince. We always joke in our family that corned beef stovies are imposters. Just corned beef hash 😄 !
Hi Cheryl, sorry I’m a bit late, nodded off after my dinner 😴🫣, a true sign you’re getting old!👵🏻😱😆 Your meals all looked delicious & beautiful presented as always. 😍 I’ve never thought of serving pickled beetroot with stovies, will will definitely try it out, I usually make my stovies with good quality steak slice from WW Wales butcher’s & it’s delicious. I think your enchiladas look lip-smakin’ly yummy as does your carbonara 😋, in fact every meal looked delicious - can I adopt you?😆 Take care & hope you have a fantastic week as we head for February! What is Burns Night? Is that something celebratory of Rabbie Burns? Also, as always, I am very jealous of your Aldi beef dripping chips. I really wonder why U.S. Aldi doesn't carry them.
