I know he's credited as being one of the best for it, but can we take a moment to appreciate exactly how metronomic Larry is? He's not flashy or technical, but the man has timing accuracy that would put an atomic clock to shame. I was lucky enough to be at this show in Sydney, and I can assure you the audio hasn't been fiddled around with at all for the video release, they really were this good. Bono and The Edge get all the attention, but watching this show in person I really came to appreciate how rock solid Adam and Larry are, and how instrumental this was in their brilliance. U2 ruled the world in the 90s, little did I realise I would never see anything like that Zoo TV tour ever again, not from them, or from anyone else. I've seen plenty of big acts that did the visual spectacular thing. Kiss, Alice Cooper, Rammstein, Slipknot, took my younger sister to see Madonna and Pink when both were at the height of their success, all those shows had plenty going on visually, musically they were serviceable but not great. Funny enough probably Madonna was the closest and I'm not even a big fan, but she was pretty tight musically. But in terms of being musically perfect as well as the big spectacular show U2 were unparalleled.
The most amazing guitar solo. Edge made that guitar scream like crazy at the end. What an amazing song. You could really sense The Edge's heart break in that guitar solo (since this song is about The Edge's divorce).
@@KLRGT500KR No. Maybe the Edge was inspired, or motivated by the divorce, to compose that kind of sad and bitter sound for the guitar solo. But the song, and lyrics, are about terrorism.
@@KLRGT500KR It's common knowledge among u2 fans. This song is about the IRA and terrorism. The parked car in a crowded street, the clockworks, the death with no call and no warning. What movie are you talking about?
Strange set of events, I was a huge early U2 fan, I even saw them live around 1982, but had never heard this song. Then many years later a local So. Cal. band did a version of it, a bit slower and with a female singer. It was included on their first (self-released) album, but when a bigger company re-released it, it was left off (for reasons unknown to me). It was not until years later, I even found out it was originally a U2 song. Now, I will give the Edge, the nod on his awesome guitar solo in this live version, but I still like the Trespassers William version much, much better, and would encourage fans to give it a listen, here on RUclips...
You should at the very least listen to some of U2's mid 80's and 90's stuff as there are so many exceptional songs during this period. Songs like this for example from the incredible 'Achtung Baby' album!
TOUT LE MONDE NE SERA PAS D ACCORD AVEC MOI ET JE LE CONCOIS MAIS C EST L UN DES PLUS BEAU MORCEAUX DE U2 SURTOUT EN CONCERT POUR MOI C EST ENORME ET JE REGRETTE DE NE L AVOIR JAMAIS ENTENDU EN CONCERT
I'm saddened to see how obsessively commercialised U2 have become today and how money has got in the way of creativity. Songs like this bring me back to a time when the band mocked and disregarded sponsorship. Fame is blindness! Anyway The Edge solo here is epic!!
The Edge wrote this about finding out that his wife was cheating on him. Saw this tour at the old Patriots stadium in Foxborough. Absolutely amazing live.
random girl from the audience. once in a while Bono signals for someone in the audience to come on stage. During 2015 IE tour, he called up about 30 people on stage for Streets and during “I still haven’t found…”. U2 shows are something else.
Not a cover. Came upon after recording Jack White's version a couple of weeks ago...I saw U2 at my college in Hartford '83 (at the time was listening to War every day), and a few times since. But SOMEHOW this song had escaped my radar. An awesome B&W cut, faster tempo, killer guitar and vocals...Love everything except Bono's makeup!...Doesn't matter, this is the most underrated U2.
Fingers too known to feel.....

it is a metronome for real im afraid (except voor HiHat)
Wow that is quite the compliment about U2 but in fairness the ZOO TV Sydney performance is definitely up there as one of their best shows!

This song is not about a divorce.
@@alejandromoran4590 Yes, it is. It is in the movie where the song was written for The Edge's divorce from Aislin.
@@KLRGT500KR No. Maybe the Edge was inspired, or motivated by the divorce, to compose that kind of sad and bitter sound for the guitar solo. But the song, and lyrics, are about terrorism.
@@alejandromoran4590 Where did you hear that? I have heard in the movie that the song was written about Aislin who was Edge's ex-wife.

This has to be the best version of this song.. You can feel the pain through Edge’s solo..
Man, U2 is the freaking best.
3:20 onwards always gives me goosebumps, the sound of that guitar crying ❤️
Makes the hair stand up on back of your neck as the guitar cries. ❤
Breathtaking. Must be of the most flawless live performances ever captured.
These are U2, pure class
Best band in the world - the number of classic songs produced is unsurpassed... Every album U2 has at least 3 to 4 spellbinding songs...
+Seamus McLaughlin Some have more. There are just so many songs to discover and enjoy. U2 are unrivalled in my view.
i agree but only until pop. i actually think their 90´s albums like zooropa achtung baby and pop are their best piece of work
The band with the most meaningfull lyrics, funny, its christianity
that solo.... wow.
people love feeling pain in controlled measure. W/out impact on ur literal life. Thats some of why we love U2. Emotion
Superb music, excellent showmanship. Doesn't get any better than this.
THE EDGE monster!
wow it fits the song so much better in black and white
i agree. saw them in Detroit in 91, but that show was in full color lol
A beautiful voice accompanied by a perfect sound of guitar in a song that love is the protagonist, PERFECT.
Now i understand what bono means by saying edge is "an alien"
where's the quote about that? thanks in advance!
magic filled the air! The edge knows how to make his guitar talks! Fantastic performance!
Guitar, drum, voice, bass...mesmerazing....
the most powerful solo that ever you hear
Ahhhhhh, The Zoo TV Tour! Saw them twice in 92 on that tour in Toronto! Achtung Baby was their masterpiece album and Zoo TV was their masterpiece tour
That guitar solo is amazing 😙
so profound....Achtung Baby is an immortal classic. This song sealed the deal. Incredible. Love IS Blindness......,
Acthung Baby... É uma viagem a experiências sentimentais.... É o The wall do U2... Impossível ouvir apenas uma música
Best video I've found for this masterpiece!
Me da escalofrío esta melodia... Un ambiente único se vivió ese día... Extraordinario
Absolutely spellbinding! :')
Edge is cruel how he makes his guitars cry.
So cruel…
Because of the sustainer and delay effects
Love is clockwork and cold steel
Fingers too numb to feel
Breathtaking
This is epic

Fantastic!
Wow!! this song makes me shiver, Jack's version is good too
The Edge!
This is such a brilliant song . Jack white version so good too. Even more emotional or is that because Thomas Shelby involved! !
i would die on that stage if i was her 😍😍😍
Who was she? Just a random girl taken up by security?
The Edge wrote this about finding out that his wife was cheating on him. Saw this tour at the old Patriots stadium in Foxborough. Absolutely amazing live.
Just discovered that today through J White's version! But this one is beautiful, and above all, who's that girl??
random girl from the audience. once in a while Bono signals for someone in the audience to come on stage. During 2015 IE tour, he called up about 30 people on stage for Streets and during “I still haven’t found…”. U2 shows are something else.
What a fucking amazing cover! An amazing song taken to the next level!

Sorry, I meant Jack White’s cover over this U2 song.
This is not a cover, this is the original!
thnx, 3.22 i am dead and 4.22 i am fly to heaven:)
Outstanding
from 2:21 to 3:40. more than 1 Minute climax. what else to say?
To 4:21 even
Edge is indeed a legend
Fingers too known to feel.....

Numb not known !!
🖤🖤🖤
wonderful
muy bueno !!!
Love
how romantic are Ali and Bono in that frame???Lov 'em!!!
That isnt his wife in the video
Excellent, not distracted by the macphisto outfit anymore.
HIM would do an amazing version of this. Ville Valo would sing the balls out of this. Slower and more sad.
