- Ever wondered how PG tips get that great taste into their tea bags? Did you think they uploaded it digitally via USB or inserted the wonderful flavour with MAGIC?
Well apparently not. Those clever folks at PG tips put it all down to their cryptically named 'pyramid bag', which gives the tea more room to move, freeing the great, fresh taste for a perfect cuppa.

I looked this up just because I couldn't get 'And a digger' out of my head, even though I haven't seen this goddamn ad in years.
I can’t get it out my head I was only like 8 when this ad first aired on TV and I still remember it and I’m 18 so I decided to rewatch it then read every comment 😂😂😂

I just noticed in the shot showing the 2 glasses of the tea bags spinning in the right side of the screen you can see that they actually put water in the digger glass
This is still one of my fave adverts
The fact that I bought one of them all these years ago just brings back so much memories, I found him in the cupboard today.

I have a plush of the monkey and I love it so much and sleep with it every night
I have some monkeys my fav at the moment is a monkey with dressing gown like monkey in the advert! He sleeps on a pillow with a blanket in my room 🐵🐵🐵☕
I don't remember seeing this ad but I was perfectly predicting the whole thing as I watched it like it was muscle memory, so child me must have seen this 100 times back in the day.

If you have your tea weaker than other people, then you don't stir with the bag in. A pyramid bag releases just enough tea in two dips for my perfect cuppa.

Nice advert, but the tea is horrible now. They have done something for more profit.I think there is less tea in the bags. Its just weak and horrible.It was once the best regular stuff, but I dont like it anymore.
