The similarities don't end there. They both have a robotic appearance, where most other characters have humanoid faces. Also, they both have a link with knowledge, Shockwave being a cruel scientist and Soundwave being responsible for intelligence gathering. Both of them are loyal to Megatron, don't let their emotions guide their actions ( a rare feature in the Decepticon's army ) and have more of a backline role than other members.
