Hi Michelle. LOVE your paintings. Painting is my self care while caring for my husband as he battles cancer. As a Canadian, Poppies are the symbol Remembrance Day on November 11th, where we wear Poppies on our clothes to honour those brave veterans and our current military. Thank you for doing this painting. I am working on my own version through your tutorial. I have never supported anyone on patreon before, but am going to sign up with you. Thank you again
Painting is therapy for the heart and soul. Caring for someone is very emotional and exhausting. You need some time for yourself. Where u just get lost in the moment. Sending you lots of love and hugs to you both. God bless x
Your videos have reignited my love of painting and the process. I have been in a sort it funk/depression and your videos have helped me so much. I’ve gone out of my comfort zone with paintings and I finished a picture i had been so scared to start (my cat) and it’s paid off. Thank you
I’m so glad I found you!!!!!!! There are too many channels where the artists paint beautiful paintings, but you cannot paint it bc of bad instruction, too complicated techniques. So many people are just satisfied watching someone paint but I want to PAINT! Thank you!!!
I am painting the poppies again, because I love to do it with you. You are such a open, not pushy person and it makes me very comfortable. It is just the „you do what you like” that makes me more confident. Thanks for that 😊
Lol don't sip too much..u were in a good mood.. love this pic I feel like I can do this it's easy enough for a beginner like me who overthinks lol.thank u
I love this painting. I love in California so I am partial to poppies. I just finished painting a poppy field a little different than yours but your tutorial was a big help. Thank you.
You are great! I am from Germany, I like your wonderfull teaching by painting and...by learning language!!! You are a great tracher! And your Film Crew guy is the best of All! Lovely little smileys from Göttingen!
Lol your husband is funny..yall r so sillly..that's who types in the little commentary when u don't know or mess up rt.? Lol 😂 I loved this video.if u make ur audience laugh n enjoy this way u r doing something rt
Thank you - I’ve got a houseful of family for the holiday season - it’s summer school holidays in South Africa so this will work with keeping the children occupied as we are in “lockdown” so usual fun activities are not available - so we’ll stay home and paint - I’ve got the supplies - take care
If you haven't seen Samuel Durkin's poppy field, I really enjoyed that also. Though he's a bit more secretive with some of his painting technique it seems like.
Michelle, could you explain the difference between the bristle brush others. I have several sets of brushes but none say bristle brush. Love your teaching!
Hi Julia, When you hear the term "bristle" brush it will typically imply that the bristles are made of firm natural hair, mostly hog hair, which is very hard and stiff. You'll find them available for acrylic and oil paint. I sell the one that I use on my website at the link below, so you can take a look at it. Hope this helps. Have fun painting, Michelle berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/paint-supplies
Hi Linda, the info is in the description below the video. You might have to click on "read more" in order for it to appear. I hope this helps. Have fun!
Hello Lovely Lady. I checked out the Berkshire website and looked at all the paintings there. Is there any way to get you to do the 3 Mermaids that were done and even a 4th of your design? I especially would love to see the red-haired and purple bodied one. I want to do a collage of them on one wall going down the long staircase.
I love it how you explain and how you painted, I need to know what acrylic paint you use, because I have many different but there are dry too fast... I hope you can help me...
Hi Wanda, I'm happy that you're enjoying the videos. For the tutorials I'm using a thin bodied student grade paint from Blick Materials called Blickrylics. It doesn't have the best pigment but I like the consistency for blending and layering affects. I sell small sample sizes of it on my website (link below) for you to try before you buy the bigger bottles. Have fun painting! ~Michelle berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/paint-supplies
This grass /ground was almost the same as the rooster once i practiced over n over w rooster painting its easier now.ive learned w this way of hills n fields how once it dries it looks diffrent .to not freak out if it's looking so weird at points just keep going learning.and ALOT just let it dry
Hi, No, I primarily work with acrylic and oil paint, and as of right now, all of my videos are done with acrylic, but I might do some with oil paint in the future. Thanks o watching! ~Michelle
Hi Michelle can you please do a chrysanthemum painting? It's my fiance's favorite flower & I want to paint it for him. Also, do you have any seagull paintings? Where they're sitting on a post or up close? Thanks so much 🥰🥰🥰
Haha yes there are poppy fields in the western United States, in fact California's state flower is the poppy. Google Antelope Valley poppy fields for some beautiful photos. Thanks for the great videos!
Hi Jaylene, Glad that you're enjoying the videos. I am working on a canvas that was primed when I bought it. I do not use a retarder, but will sometimes use a touch of water, but for the most part, my paint flows easily because it is a thin student grade paint. Have fun painting, Michelle
Poppy is what the horrible drug that's caused such addiction is made from..(loratabs /hydrocodone.....but the flowers themselves are beautiful. But in us..expesually alabama it's illegal to have a field of poppy

Have you done a sidewalk cafe painting?
Hi, not yet, but you never know what the future may hold... stay tuned .
Your blending looks awesome. Do you prime your canvas? Do you use water or retarded? Love your tutorials.
