People of different states have different culture , language, food habits and clothing styles. Also we look so different from each other. Instead of appreciating the beauty eachothers culture we are trolling people. We should stop discriminating against all the Indian people who come from different states. Jai Hind ❤

I’m from Chhattisgarh, despite being part of Hindi belt we have zero representation in Bollywood. When I saw Malayalam movie “Unda” I cried my heart out. It was for the first time I saw my state and people being represented so beautifully. They even casted one of the local actor to play an important side character. Music of that film was culturally rooted. And most importantly the movie successfully depicts the struggle of tribals in hands of armed forces and militants.

The fact is we don’t have the privilege of seeing many movies that depict the rich culture of North or the lives of people who are rooted to their culture . Only a handful of them (in Bollywood movies) we have seen and we appreciated them too. Usually the story or the content in Bollywood movies doesn’t showcase the unity in diversity as they call themselves Indian cinema. One who is born and brought up in Delhi in an era when there was no real and authentic exposure to South Indian culture. 80s, 90s, etc. I can say things may have improved a little but not drastically. We should never take movies so lightly as it does portray or help creating perception about a culture and people. What has been portrayed through a movie character does leave the perception in people's from other region about the people and their culture which was showcased in that movie.
I believe people should not be blamed for this. Its basically the movie director or the team who have access or seen the people and culture of that particular region and still decides to portray the character in that way.

South Indians make fun of North Indians too. Most South Indians call North Indians Seth, Singh and Vadakans. According to South Indians no matter if you are Marathi, Bengali or Gujrati you are North Indian. I am not trying to pick up a fight but I am a North Indian Hindu Punjabi living in Chennai for 30 plus years and whenever I say my mother tongue is Punjabi the people are like "Oh Singh, Balle Balle, Gulla, Bhangra, oh yes Sardar joke, Santa Banta." So yeah we Indian collectively never try to learn or respect each others culture. That's the fact my dear brothers and sisters.

I'm an North Indian, and Tbh you deserve more subs!! Bollywood comes from Bombay + Hollywood, and has zero representation of north india as well, they're pretty much black and white, whilst we're in the grey side, dear fellow brothers and sisters from south we're not like this!! the representation is usually "punjabi" and the common representation of south india is "madras" as they call it, probably showing Tamil culture. India is diverse, from South-west, to North-east nobody is even known of! although we're all very beautiful >>>
let's boycott such systems, and make one big indian cinema
