Traditional Worship | Rev. Margarita McCarthy
Water was essential throughout the parched and dusty plains of the Middle East, where the writings of the Old and New Testaments were born. The Red Sea and the Sea of Galilee were the two most important sources of water in the region, and they provided the setting for so many wonderful stories throughout the Bible. In Exodus, Moses “parted the Red Sea,” freeing his people and leaving behind their bondage in Egypt.
It was at the Sea of Galilee where Jesus called His first disciples and where most of His ministry took place. As we come into the heart of this summer season, this sermon series invites us to go back and rediscover how God used these two great bodies of water to liberate a nation and provide a setting where Jesus performed miracles as He taught us all about the Kingdom of God.
Join us this Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00 a.m. as we welcome “Summer by the Sea.”
