The thing about drum solo's, is they do NOT need to be technical. What I notice more here, is Eric knows what to hit, and how to hit it, as clearly this song is mostly good because of how people have a connection more to the sound rather than what is being played. Also, he played some good tributes to Peter Criss on this solo; if you listen to Peters solo, there is a lot Eric borrowed. It just goes to show that he knows he is not the real Cat-Man, but at least keeps his spirit alive.
I saw them in Albuquerque last night and it was hands down THE BEST concert I went to and I have seen the likes of Iron Maiden, Metallica, 5FDP, Def Leppard and Journey. They were phenomenal but absolutely nothing on the planet beats seeing KISS. Aside from maybe Maidens new tour but Im gonna see thrm for a 2nd time on the 19th

The audio has the smoke effects drowning out the actual instruments....also, I can hear people chatting in the audience over the music being played. I'm not going to judge KISS solely on this one video with questionable audio reception. I've seen KISS in the '80's and again in '97 Reunion Tour and they blew me away. Their production values were industry standard or better. This recording is skewed in it's audio playback, although the video part is better than some I have seen on RUclips. Like I said, I'll trust the comments from those who were there, as many of the comments here are quite derogatory. I think maybe it's because many fans are still upset that Peter and Ace are no longer with KISS. Deep down, I am, too.
I went to see them in Albuquerque last night and it was amazing. The sound of all the instruments was perfectly balanced, and we were on the frontmost part of the lawn at the Isleta Ampitheater so I can't speak for like the front row but it was perfect. Also the presentation blew me away considerably.
Since 2001 Eric singer has pretty much kept it simple because he's had to play songs the way Peter Criss play them but make no mistake Eric singer is one of the top hard rock drummers ever listen to his drummer with Badlands listen to his drumming on Revenge Kiss Alive 3 or Carnival of Souls it's top-notch hard rock drumming he hasn't really lost much he just has to dumb it down to play like Peter Criss did you have to remember Eric is 60 years old now

Keith Bond you both make a good point however in order for peter to do half of that drum solo he’d need the same setup he had on the reunion tour. while there is footage of him in 2015 playing drums in a music store he couldn’t do this kind of show without some kind of assistance his carpool tunnel would eventually come into play like before an now that he’s older it’s only gonna get worse so while I like the fact Eric can do peters drumming am solo he is never gonna be able to create the legit feel it had when peter did it all this line up does for me is wish Paul an gene give the original lineup one more round an give kiss the proper farewell every die hard fan wants to see, finish the first tour with Eric am tommy start the next year or two with the original

I don´t get this! Eric Singer is a great drummer, no doubt! Saw him with Gary Moore in Stockholm back in ´87. Kiss 2019 ! No, this doesn´t seem right. Hope they don´t planning for further reunion. Have seen them several times, the first concert ´83 and they were good. In 1996 and 1997, they were great, but now!

But as i started growing up,and gaining more and more Knowledge of playing better and taking lessons to improve my understanding of alot more different ways and Techniques of playing drums.. I learned (even though Peter Criss was the reason i started playing)that Peter Criss wasn't at all a very good drummer!! He played very long ass boring solos!! I still have alot of Respect for Peter Criss,and he did at least play well enough to keep the Rhythm for the band really good,as a time keeper!! But that's all he really did for the band!! So i learned that My idol that got me started playing drums professionally for a living.. Was just your Ordinary basic drummer!! And in this video Eric really beefed up the original Peter Criss solo for 100,000 thousand years!! He basicly played the long boring dragged out solo of Peter Criss's foundation of it.. But made it so so much BETTER!!! I thank Peter Criss because when i was a little kid,he got me into the love and art of playing drums.. But as time went on,I learned exactly what Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons meant,when they was talking about what a bad drummer Peter Criss was!! And how he couldn't even read drum tabs are music!! I no that my comments on this,will piss off alot of people!! But Peter Criss was just your average day run of the mill drummer!! He's definitely better than this solo shows but just not equal to Carr. To be fair though, I never saw Peter Criss play live and that might've influenced my thinking. In any case, IMO it should be him on drums for this tour but that's all about Gene and Paul though.

Apparently there are those who don't get it, Kiss has been around since the early 70s... They DO age like the rest of us and tend to slow down a bit. I'd say for THEIR age, they still ROCK!!!

I don´t get this! Eric Singer is a great drummer, no doubt! Saw him with Gary Moore in Stockholm back in ´87. Kiss 2019 ! No, this doesn´t seem right. Hope they don´t planning for further reunion. Have seen them several times, the first concert ´83 and they were good. In 1996 and 1997, they were great, but now!
If he can play double kick bass drumm, why cant play detroit rock city with the double fill as alive 3 álbum?? 🤔
That was introduced by Eric Carr on his 1st Kiss tour , those triplets on the kick drums... like the shuffle Peter played on the kick and snare.
Because he's told to play more like Criss. Singer was perfect on Revenge Tour.

Being a very huge KISS FAN!! And ill admit that i started playing drums at the age of 5,mainly because of Peter Criss!! And he was the reason why i started playing drums for a very great living!! But as i started growing up,and gaining more and more Knowledge of playing better and taking lessons to improve my understanding of alot more different ways and Techniques of playing drums.. I learned (even though Peter Criss was the reason i started playing)that Peter Criss wasn't at all a very good drummer!! He played very long ass boring solos!! I still have alot of Respect for Peter Criss,and he did at least play well enough to keep the Rhythm for the band really good,as a time keeper!! But that's all he really did for the band!! So i learned that My idol that got me started playing drums professionally for a living.. Was just your Ordinary basic drummer!! And in this video Eric really beefed up the original Peter Criss solo for 100,000 thousand years!! He basicly played the long boring dragged out solo of Peter Criss's foundation of it.. But made it so so much BETTER!!! I thank Peter Criss because when i was a little kid,he got me into the love and art of playing drums.. But as time went on,I learned exactly what Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons meant,when they was talking about what a bad drummer Peter Criss was!! And how he couldn't even read drum tabs are music!! I no that my comments on this,will piss off alot of people!! But Peter Criss was just your average day run of the mill drummer!! Who also had to have drummers come in and show him how to play on alot of songs.. 1 for a huge example was Detroit Rock City!! Love ya Peter Criss!! But both of the Eric's,who played drums for KISS,Just BLOW YOU OUT OF SITE!! AND THEY BOTH ARE TRULY PROFESSIONAL DRUMMERS !!!

Also that a number of people Apparently think they can do better, of course NOT thinking of the age of the band members and how they had done better for energy back in the day. Personally, I think they all are doing great in light of their ages.

@@randylahey7317 I totally agree with you...Eric Carr was the best. People definitely do not give him credit just because he passed away. Eric Carr was respected since 1980. Even in the early 90's he was on the top 10 list of Drummers in rock magazines.
@MorbidManMusic Agreed. It's not particularly interesting. Singer is certainly better than this shows but not better than Eric Carr. I won't get into whether or not Peter Criss should be behind the kit on this tour.
@@rustyblades2566 I had the opportunity to see Eric Carr play live during the Asylum Tour way back when and he blew me away (still does). I also have seen Eric Singer play. He's definitely better than this solo shows but just not equal to Carr.
To be fair though, I never saw Peter Criss play live and that might've influenced my thinking. In any case, IMO it should be him on drums for this tour but that's all about Gene and Paul though.

I am lucky to have seen Eric Singer play all the Kiss gigs he did here in Australia and seen Peter all the times he played here in Australia too...also met him a couple of years back for his retirement gig. Peter actually was a killer Drummer back in the day. Not even Singer could play Watchin' You the way Peter did.
Some bands, no matter how great they were back in the day, stay WAY too long at the party. And Kiss has. Sad.

Because in the 70s no other band besides Alice cooper did this kind of stuff (correct me if I’m wrong). also the show they did kept you interested an the music was simple add the little things in there like genes blood Peters scream an solos ace’s solos riffs an smoking guitar an Paul’s intros dances an vocals an you have a pretty entertaining band plus the outfits no one looked like them they came in at the perfect time an not to mention marketed themselves to a level that would keep them rich for decades they were an are one of the greatest bands to step foot on a stage an hate them or not you gotta respect the fact they’ve been around for so long am still draw so much fans, now I do agree they should’ve stopped after the reunion an farewell tour but I’m glad fans who haven’t seen the show get to see them still the shows defiantly downgraded due to age an I can’t stand seeing two guys impersonate two original members but I’m glad they can play the songs note for note but still will never compare to the original lineup In terms of authenticity an energy they had before shit went downhill

Yeah Peter Chris great drummer, just as great as Charlie Watts. As kids we all think Peter was such a great drummer until you learn to play drums that’s when you know how much Peter Chris really sucked. Eric Carr did not show 1/10th his real ability in that solo.

So disappointed! I can see Eric is aging too or it might be oblivious after all this KISShit. So far the best drummer KISS had it on my humble opinion you can check it out on that Revenge album. I know him since he played on Jake E. Lee's Badlands and other bands at the time, he sounded like a thunder but now is teaming with Tommy to be mediocre and "I just work here" ...
