brian tichy has got the chops and does honor to peter chris by playing this solo just like peter chris did back 1975, when kiss did kiss alive. brian is a awesome drummer big time.
Seeing this actually made me remember how great Pete was when he was in his prime...go back and watch Peter's Solo from 100,000 years in Detroit Cobo Hall 1975. It's sick...and Brian nails it in this video
So good to see one of today's greatest rock drummers paying homage to one of his drumming heroes. He really nailed it and did it justice! Even nailed the "Stanley Rap"! Long live Peter Criss and thank you, Brian for always showing him such respect!
Peter's drumming fused with Paul's rap was one of the most transformative things i have heard in my life. I was 7 when i heard this. The destruction of any chance at conventional thinking and living was complete and total. I have been a misfit ever since.
Perfectly said...I too was 7 yrs old when I first put side 3 of KISS ALIVE! on my parents turntable and was rocket launched into a realm of rock and roll reality that my brain never knew existed. Completely mind-altering and uplifting and life since then has been an enriched, enjoyable, explorative journey with music always intertwined into my experiences. Peter's drum solo and Paul's rap with the audience was the coolest thing I'd ever heard and at 55, still gives me chills of joy and excitement. Webb in ATL
Wow !!! He nailed it!!! Great job!!! When I started playing drums (Kiss only had the five studio records and Alive!) I always tried to copy Peter's solo from Alive! Drumming on that album is intense... great job !!!!
Proof that you can make an interesting drum solo from just a simple figure - playing triplets over and over, while the feet keep time on the kick and hi-hat on each beat. The hard part is doing it well. Nice job by Mr. Tichy, and adding Paul's rap as well. I must have listened to that solo close to 100,000 times when I was younger. Peter Criss may not have been the funkiest or flashiest drummer, but he was as solid as they came back then.
The irony of this is that Eric Singer forever has tried to stamp his solo over Peter Criss’ & to have Brian replicate Peter’s iconic solo is pretty telling
I just bought a new set of Sonor sq1 kit n building on to it. N this is going to be my first Solo I'm going for. I been a Guitarist for 30 years n my is Broke n leg is meesed up so hoping that now since I have to sit down I'm going to play drums I will be as good as a drummer as I was a Guitarist
Kiss wouldn't have sounded the same same without peter in the early days. He had the perfect chops for the music. Doesn't matter how good you are when you find the musicians you fit with. Another example is ringo star. Not overly talented. But fit in with the Beatles perfectly.
This Solo is why get into the drums. Can't play it correct, but you Vid helped me a lot to see, what goes on. It's brillant, like the solo on the Kiss Alive Album...and you nailed it soooo perfekt...also to talk like Paul and play the drums. You're a machine, how long do you practice that? Incredible...from hell...don't know what to say...
he's way over playing it lol anyone whos ever played peter criss style knows you tuck your elbows by your side and just play tripplets, not that Peter knew what that was
it is played too fast in sections. but the point is (it think) to highlight Peter's drumming and show exactly how good he was from a technical standpoint. the TRUE genius of THis drum piece requires Pauls rap and the orchestration. the escalation of energy, the fever pitch of the frenzy and call to arms is almost Jim Jonesian. It is an expert piece of physio-psychic manipulation. I dont see how anyone who saw this performed LIVE by the band could come away without being completely transmogrified.
overall i definitely applaud you for playing peter's solo from KISS alive! one of the greatest rockandroll recordings of all times : its a little to fast paced in some sections, and could use just a tad bit more cowbell(peter criss is the greatest cowbell player of all times in rock and roll)....good job knowing all of pauls lines but you need wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy more enthusiasm in the voice for this, too bad paul himself didnt join you for this
Sadly the drum solo from Alive 1 was recorded in a studio. So was all of Pauls interaction with the crowd during the end of the solo. Alive 1 was fake.
The solo that made me want to play drums back in 1977.
It is what got me playing when I first heard it in '75 on ALIVE.
brian tichy has got the chops and does honor to peter chris by playing this solo just like peter chris did back 1975, when kiss did kiss alive. brian is a awesome drummer big time.
its criss not chris
This is fucking awesome….Peter Criss would be proud

peter from 74-77 was a beast!!!

5:01 - Love the roadie there handling the teleprompter for Tich. BT can do it all - drum, sing, sermon, all at once. 🔥

This takes me right back to the good old seventies.
That was unbelievable what a true fan perfectly done I’ve been listening to that for nearly 50 years
I love this. What a great tribute. He even did Paul Stanley's part. Super great
Definitely honored Peter in every way. Also did Paul's part too and did it on the mark. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow that was badass tribute to the catman great job Brian......
My new favorite drummer!
Brian did a great job! I remember trying to figure this solo out in my young years! Peter was my first big influence!
Wow !!! He nailed it!!! Great job!!! When I started playing drums (Kiss only had the five studio records and Alive!) I always tried to copy Peter's solo from Alive! Drumming on that album is intense... great job !!!!
the drum solo that turned me into the drummer I am today.
Tremendous job!!! epic drum solo!!!!!
My name is Brian also. It's an honor to share the same name and that drumming was dead on perfect!!!
Excellent Brian. The whole solo. 🍻🍻
I was there, thank you Brian!!! EPIC AF!!!

This is terrific stuff, huge well done to Brian for piecing it all together and showing how the key parts fit together! Brilliant.
...showing how the Big Boys do it
Great performance of a true classic that still sounds awesome cranked today !!!
You have to be a real huge kiss fan to nail this like you did, god has truly blessed you
Peter was a beast!!! Brian nailed the solo👏👏👏👍🤘
This is the legendary moment of the history of Rock and Roll.
Nobody's thought a drummer would act as not only Criss but Stanley.
Great idea.
That was really f good!!👏👏👏👏👍👍
Fantastic!
Amazing job!
Nailed that solo, brought back memories from my youth...
And a great catch by the cameraman at the end!
Jesus he even did the Paul Stanley shouts just like back in 75 77 while doing his solo. He is a beast.
This is on one of the greatest things I've ever seen !
FUCK! I wonder if Peter Criss has seen this? Shows how fucking good he was in 1975.
That was awesome Brian Tichy, nailed it fuck yeah 🤘😎🤘
you ducking nailed it . great work .
THIS. IS. FUCKING. FANTASTIC.
The irony of this is that Eric Singer forever has tried to stamp his solo over Peter Criss’ & to have Brian replicate Peter’s iconic solo is pretty telling
Even he does the Paul Stanley speech in Alive! Dude, that's awesome!
El mejor cover y homenaje a un baterista como Peter Criss
wow
very cool
its nearly spot on
I love this!
Nailed it..👏👏👏👏👏
AWESOME
Tichy does everything and more on the kit.
That was fucking GREAT!

Explosive solo on the drum
Perfeito.
Wait, Paul allowed this??? Shows Peter was pretty damn good back in the day.
it wasn’t played like this. the tempo was wayyy slower
@@benn_bazaa Yes, but Peter worked the high hat far more in the beginning.

@@88kwthomas it could use some over-playing.
So... you just do what every drummer in his life has wanted.
Play the Peter Criss solo live.
it is played too fast in sections. but the point is (it think) to highlight Peter's drumming and show exactly how good he was from a technical standpoint. the TRUE genius of THis drum piece requires Pauls rap and the orchestration. the escalation of energy, the fever pitch of the frenzy and call to arms is almost Jim Jonesian. 2 words,

Nope Tommy Lee is the best cowbell player. listen to the album Too Fast For Love.
@@DannyGadish Nope. WILL FERRELL, is the best cowbell player! JK...
@@teeoh9192 Thanks to Bruce Dickinson ;-)
Don´t fear the cowbell.
Can't beat the Real Cat Man! go look at 100000 years (Live at Winterland) Miss Peter and i throw Ace in that
Nice
I think I can see Mark Chiccini in the audience. Mark is that you?
ブライアン サイコー🥁
It's to bad that Peter is the only former Kiss member who was never on the KISS Kruse.
👊
He's a great drummer, his drum tech would pour water on the drums so that when he hit them they made a huge splash
Sadly the drum solo from Alive 1 was recorded in a studio. So was all of Pauls interaction with the crowd during the end of the solo. Alive 1 was fake.
Peter Criss solo
you know, its pretty remarkable how good peter criss got concidering he never actually learned how to play the drums
Little wonder why Gene has him drumming in his solo band!!
excellent. throw the groove out the window and play it so fast that it just sounds like a bunch of gobbledygook.
He's close...real CLOSE.
Terrible de bueno
터널 통과랑 간이역 들어갈때가 최고구만..
They've obviously never heard of Ronald Bruner Jr.
poor Brian having to play with Kiss...LOL
That was gay.
I’m a picky ass… Nailed it .
fantastic!
