Nice job. Luckily my Yamaha xvs950 valves can be adjusted without needing shims and they’re fairly accessible. 50,000 kms - time to check ‘em again thanks dude 😊
Very informative video mate, thank you for this. Just a quick question. I have the same 06 R6 just like yours, and have the same setup (decat with Y pipe and stock exhaust), do you think installing an exup eliminator after adjusting the valves would help keep it healthier?
I did valve adjustment on my bike and is still dying on me on stop signs when it’s under 150 degrees. I understand I have to let it warm up but some times it takes 5 to 7 min to get to 150 degrees
Nice! I have an 07 too! I buy it without exup and from that moment was doing that. (didn't know about that exup and servomotor) I was at many mechanics, and all shit... I changed camchain, tensioner, etc... Alot of money waste... I discovery by my self the problem... I will fix it this year..but fuck COVID19
Mine does that too just after installing it, thought I would try different mapping. Did not ever had issues with it before and I just had valve adjustment
what should i do if coil wont stay in on cylinder 1 ? my spark plug is brand new and i hear a click but when its idling it makes a hissing sound and the when i test ride it it pops back out ...i ordered a new coil stick but it has to be something else
i have an 03 R6 that has this throttle issue and struggles to start back up after warm. also have intermittent issue when taking off throttle hesitates then take off. i have noticed the bike is consuming an excessive amount of fuel as well. its only got 8700 miles on it. bike has sat in last persons garage for 8yrs.
Having the same issue after just installing full exhaust and power commander. I also added O2 sensor eliminator and exup eliminator. Had a valve adjustment recently before the installs and it’s having the same issues. I’m going to try different tune mapping, maybe it is running too lean.
@@thegoldbarron9504 I have a 2008 r6 and it has 30,000 miles. I did a last valve adjustment at 20K and that is what my shop mechanic recommends, my next one will be at 40,000 miles. I mainly got the pc for the quickshift, now I realized there was probably other routes that I should have taken....maybe an autoblip instead. Update: The problem seemed to have resolved itself after I rode it out for the first time after I had it re-mapped on the PCV. However, I found a tuner that will flash the ECU for me and remove the speed, rpm and throttle restrictions as well as remap the air fuel ratio based on having full exhaust.
Hey man, i just bought a 06 r6 with 40k. Its idle is all over the places hops from about 8-900rpms up to 1500rpms and for about a month didnt cause to bike to die or anything. Now after riding for alittle my bike shuts when i come to a stop. My throttle gets all crazy when im back down at low rpms trying to leave first gear or second gear. Super hard to keep the bike moving at that point bc it seems like theres no correct response from my throtle or clutch.. As far as i have seen its only when the bike is heated up. Do you think this could be the same issue. And u said u spennt 80 bucks on what shims ? Whats that
Ill check for saved codes, i was going to order new ignition coils and sparks. i have heard that has solved some similar problems. And it has no cats.its real loud i originally thought the idle was off beacuse of the exaust pressures..No power commander... bc i can change the ignition coils myseld but i woould have to send the bike to a shop for the value adjustment, thanks
I would like to do it myself i just dont have the right tools what tools do i need. Also i noticed you talk alot about when your bikes were cold. My issue persist when the bike is heated up hot
Sounds good, im working on taking the bike apart so ill get some feeler gauges and get to measuring. Im petty mechanically inclined i dont doubt i take my time i could get it right. Bike is is my living room at the moment so i have the space too lol

Hi, After watching your videos multiple times, I feel like you are the right person to ask about this problem that i am having with my Yamaha R6 2011, 13000 Miles. Okay, so when i start my bike, its fires up cold real nice. After the temperature reaching 135 F, the RPM will start fluctuating. It will start bouncing like a cowgirl on steriods. After few bounces, engine will die. If i put it in gear and ride it, at low RPMs it will misfire. Going through the forums and videos, i ended up replacing Spark plugs, Ignition Coils, Fuel filter, changed cam and pick up sensor but the problem is still there. I do not know what else to look for. I need guidance about this problem. Any help is appreciated.

You found the problem?
Mine has even less then 5000 miles and i have same rough idle

Battery connection, battery health, fuses, air filter, spark plugs, loose air hoses.
