I just wanted to thank you-very helpful video....I stopped riding my R6 when I had my kids, and let her sit for about 9/10 years. I want o sell it now and get a Harley (age appropriate).I began with the carbs and you have saved me some head ache...many thanks.
Nice work Azz. When you remove air jets. Best way is to screw them down first (should be 2 and a half turns) to the stop. Then remove. Refit, screw all the way in, then 2 and a half turns out. Loved the vid mate 😃😃😃
I'm currently cleaning the carburetors and counted at least 1.5 revolutions on the second carburetor. My question would be whether they are set the same on all carburetors and whether 1.5 is even legitimate. Know that someone? 😅
Nicely done! I have a 02' R6. Never sold it. Out of my arsenal of bikes it's the one I will never sell. Last year they built the R6 with the carbs. FAST bike and a lot you can do with it. But you're meticulous, thorough for someone who uses terms like “springy”. Are you a mechanic? If not you should be. You’ve got engineering potential. And a very nice vid on cleaning the jets. Yamaha gives you the torque specs on those jets just an FYI. Other than that very well done. This video I’m sure has helped a lot of R6 fanatics!
Prior to removing the pilot screws, it's much easier (and more precise) to screw them all the way IN and count the turns (should be about 2, according to the service manual) than to count the turns out ;)
Spray some water on the downpipes when the bike is hot and you should see the water evaporate pretty quickly, if one or more of the pipes are not evaporating the water as quickly then you may have an issue with that particular cylinder.
To set the pilot screws, screw them in until they seat but be gentle as you can easily damage the o ring. Count how many turns and that's your setting for when you re-assemble i.e. You screw them in then back them off, mine were 3 on cylinders 1&4 then 2 3/4 on cylinders 2&3
Pilot air screw should be screwed all the way in then turn out the required turns,, these are not for carb synchronization... You need to set your float heights too 👍 Cheers
thanks for the video man. been looking through youtube for something like this. can't find the damn nuts, they are well hidden under the spring thingies.
Good video it came in handy tonight. One question, Are you supposed to see light through the main jet (the bigger one) also? I understand it has a lot of holes around the jet but like is a guitar string supposed to go straight through it like it did with the pilot jet?
Hello mate...awesome videos yiu done and the car sync... never cleaned my carb before but im going to attempt it... the screw that you counted 9 half turns is this the only screw i need to put back in the same..also it it the sync screw? Cheers
At 0:43 there are these 2 rubber things poking out pointing up, what are they? I have fuel leaking out of these tubes and I need to know what they are called and any more info if someone has it :) plss help
I'm going to be cleaning out my carb this week. I know you soak the needles but should I clean or soak anything else in the carb? I have rough idle and boggy/sluggish acceleration in first and second gear. Bike wasn't riden in a while and had old gas. Thanks for all the help!!
Azz Kam Thanks a lot man. Another question if you dont mind. Is there any significant stuff I have to remove? Like I saw a throttle cable looks a little scetchy
Alan Koops if I recall correctly there’s 2/3 cables that need to be disconnected but if you pay close attention to how you remove them then you’ll have no issues putting them back.

Great demo. Really eager to see the steps of synchronising the carbs
Thanks for the video brother i got my first carbutared bike and dont know much about carbs this helped me alot

Could you help me figure out the turns for a 2000 Yamaha R1
Good video and good to see someone getting stuck into this important job. Put towels into the inlet tracts as soon as you remove the carbs though.
You may have saved me a $800 repair trip to the shop.
thanks mate

Need to synchronise the carbs with the synchronisation gauge too.
Great video mate well explained bro thanks

Thanks bro

David Knurek clean everything you can access all the jets needles everything
Thank you!
question 101... what is the tube with plastic name on the carburator reference 12:59 plz
Great video
Hey man. I love the video. On thing I dont understand is how you remove the carbs themself.
Alan Koops once you’ve loosened the Allen bolts you have to wiggle them off
Alan Koops grab the carbs firmly and give them a good wiggle left right back n fourth whilst lifting upwards.
Azz Kam Thanks a lot man. Another question if you dont mind. Is there any significant stuff I have to remove? Like I saw a throttle cable looks a little scetchy

Bro, what tool are you using? Can't find anything like that anywhere. Cheers for the great vid!
GutterSpeak just type flexible drill bit holder on eBay loads available and quite cheap.
Right on brother. I'm probably going to get this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B015VVK2F0/ref=twister_B015VVK2FK?tag=4290-20
GutterSpeak 👌
You could have primed the carbs by turning the key on and off.
what did you use to loosen the #3 allen bolts?
broke it and its complicated to change it?
A le valvole sta moto senti come gira a vuoto
How did you know which piston was having problems? I have 1 cylinder not firing at low revs
+SushiToyota could be the coil on cap ignition problem . with burning smell ?
Good vid thanks
Do you have any tips on how to remove the allen bolts of theyre stripped?
You should be able to wiggle the whole thing off but it will be quite tough!
i dont know how to set them up
Those look suspiciously like throttle bodies, not carbs.
how is the bike? are you stlil working on it?
Drippa 101 sold the bike a few years ago mate.
Ci vuole ultrasuoni
I didnt even know the r6 was carbeurated
