- If something distinguishes Eivør from many other singers it's her uncannily eerie and smashing lyrical voice. While listening you feel sandwiched between two epochs. One, back to a primitive time of tribes and shamans, and the other, one of spaceships, aliens and cosmic travellers. Though she might belong to either one of those, she is certainly not of this time.
Her songs contain a variety of styles. Sometimes poetic, sometimes techno-pop, sometimes rough and tribal, sometimes heavily industrial. Despite the acute differences between those styles, they feel settled and even uniformed by the intimate way of her performance and I should repeat, her uncanny vocal style
We feel particularly proud to have Eivør in the Juke Train and furthermore to perform in this building which opened its doors 150 years ago
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the workers of "Depas" the locomotive depot. They were most kind and patient as we (unknowingly) invaded their working space

I have to admit that this whole Juke Train idea is simply great. The atmosphere and the acoustics of the maintenance hangar mingling with northern magic of Eivør make for some shivers...

I'm so.sad that the lovely adlibs that she does close to the end is only on the live versions, but it's amazing that her voice doesn't sound different live than it does on track. True talent.

Mesmerizing... I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about this particular performance makes me enjoy it a bit more than the official/studio version.
If you ever have the chance to see her live in a concert, please, please, go and see her. The atmosphere is out of this world. This song, and particularly the drum she plays... you can feel them in your cells. I felt in a trance throughout her live performance, and had tears running from my eyes to my chest. I just can't put it into words.
@@abracadavra Believe me, I'd savor the opportunity to see her perform live. As of yet, I haven't had a proper chance to. It's definitely one of my bucket list objectives.
The live performances seem more natural and organic. Very little processing.
Across the board, her live performances seem to greatly surpass the studio offerings. I think the studio she uses needs new recording engineers, because they aren't capturing the essence of what she is capable of. (and when you can tell in a compressed environment like youtube streaming, that's really not saying anything about those minding the mixing board)
