    I've heard several versions of this peace, but this is by far my favorite. A very well done performance.

    The instrument is tun’d to the correct pitch for Vienna in (c. 1787) with A=432 (not the sharper A=440 of to-day) and the speed is more or less correct (too many modern keyboard players rush & bustle through the first Allegro without touching upon the subtleties of the hauntingly melodic textures which are finely balanced between the two players) - could have been play’d with more ‘fire’ by Rob Levin etal but they do their work well enough (despite lack of ‘ornamentations’ that M. himself would have added) - Levin must have had to constrain himself on this recording !)
