Wow, that sound... Man, the mids is just lovely. It's also loud. The price doesn't do the guitar enough justice though. It should be priced at 4000 USD minimum.
Nice playing and a great demo. I’ve looked through the comments and seen some comparisons to high enders like Taylors come up. I Just bought the A3R and I love it. Beautifully balanced but the way it is set up it doesn’t have the volume of my 3 Taylors though I love the tone of the Yamaha, particularly when played quiet or with medium/low attack. The Taylors blow it away on pure volume, particularly in the bass but the Yamaha wins on sweetness of tone. Once they are plugged in the Yamaha can compete on the volume front and I prefer the Yamaha pickup to the sound of the Taylor ES2. If you want a guitar you can play acoustically and dig in real hard then my Taylor 410 (2001Version) is hard to beat. But I love the Yamaha tone, just doesn’t have the headroom in the bass when unplugged.
@@mcdee56 No, rosewood 414ce. Ovankol 410 and Maple 616 ce. I’ve since bought a Yamaha LLTA Transacoustic. Similar to the LL16 and this has the volume of the Taylors.
L series Yamaha have much better bass, very loud with ridiculous sustain for a little bit more money , it can compete with Taylor 4 series easily. But A Series have the sweetest sound and I really dig that. The pickup system also better than L series and Taylor's.
@@phanhuyduc2395 Since my last post I’ve bought an AC3R and an LLTA. The AC3R is probably my favourite but the LLTA also blows me away. You’re right about the volume and sustain. Brilliant guitars.
07/11/2021: I bought the Yamaha A5RC for ($1,400.00) and at the same time I bought a Taylor 414RC ($2,600.00). But, I loved the Yamaha with warm tones and straight and tight wood grain with not demarcations in the grain. The Taylor was too bright sounding and had a lot of delamination marks in the wood grain on the top and back wood grain. I actually bought two (2) Taylor 414RC and both had ugly wood grain patterns. They looked like a cat scratched them up. Taylor calls those markings Bear Claws. I call it using cheap inferior wood without tight and straight wood grain. I have heard that the straighter and the tighter the grain, the better is the tone. Plus, it looks very nice!
Really great playing! This guitar is wonderful. If you want to play only one guitar and nothing else, I think maybe this would be my choice. Great for strumming AND picking.
Hey guys I really need your opinion on this . I bought the Yamaha ACR5 but it keeps going out of tune, the intonation seems fine , but it seems high at the bridge and lower at the nut.. I don’t know if that’s normal? I m thinking about sanding the bridge to see regulate it better and hopefully stop tuning problems What would you say about this ? Thank you !
You are a telaneted and great palyer. Your experience and opinion is very imporatant for me. Please help me to decide. If we compare the AC5R to the Yamaha LL 16 S, what are the pros, and which one do you prefer or suggest to buy?
Can we order Yamaha ac5r without preamp installed? I just want my guitar perfect with no holes lol. I think I love Yamaha ac5r sounds. My Lakewood has thick mid freq. Which can be good, but for now I prefer leaner sound and brighter sound ^^
Number 5 in the name denotes they must be in the "similar" range, which I think is current Yamaha's top range. ACR5 utilised rosewood for back and sides. FS5 uses mahogany for back and sides. So they must sound differently. ACR5 comes with some pickup system, though. New pickup is available in FSX5 (X stands for electronic pickup)
Usually that's true for concert body guitar like this. But this guitar has deeper body than normal concert type guitar ( like a Grand Autorium) so it's still has good enough strumming for versertility
I just went to my local shop and compared the AC5R with the FSX5 and also 2 x FGX5. The red labels have more bass, but the AC5R sounded a lot better to me plus the neck was much nicer too. I bought the AC5R there and then. This is after playing about 100 different guitars including Martins and Taylors.
@@NoelG-IREplease help, between this and the Taylor 314CE ES2 which one would you recommend for percussive fingerstyle? Or just which one do you think is better overall?
@@fruitykrueger honestly mate, I’m a big Yamaha fan, but no denying the Taylors sound and play pretty sweet. Best thing to do is play both, but what I will say is that a 314 whilst still a very nice guitar, would be a somewhat lower end model for a Taylor. I really like the 900 series, but they are double the price of the 314. For that price range it makes more sense to buy a Martin in terms of holding/increasing in value. The A5CR whilst certainly not the most expensive Yamaha guitar, certainly gives you a lot of bang for buck. Japanese built. Aged wood. I really love finger picking on it, but I’m pretty sure the string spacing on the Taylor would be wider. A series Yamaha is designed with performance in mind so neck is very fast. I really like that but others may not. I guess is really depends on your style so give both a try, I don’t think you will disappointed with either but one will feel better to you that the other.
I have this guitare for a year now. The more i play it, the more it sound amazing. Really really awesome guitare for the price.
It sounds like it picks up sounds really good. Good for finger picking and percussive playing.
Love your tone, great hands, perfect sense of rhythm and phrasing, beautiful passion for your music! And a sweet guitar.
Awesome! 👏 talented and the Yamaha is great!
Outstanding playing!
Loved your playing. It’s more like I play. I bought this guitar today. I’m very excited to play it.
Wonderful playing.
Thank you for a terrific video to demonstrate the sound of this guitar. Stellar sound and stellar playing!
Finally i think i have found my om/concert size guitar..will try out the 3 and 5..👍🏻
Lovely tunes!

Mmmmm that’s not fair to say. Honor should be given when it’s due, and Taylor has earned it. You prefer Yamaha, that’s it.
Agreed I love this guitar., It sounds better than my Martin D-16e.

Ive gone from 9 guitars to 4. Now my goal is to go to 2! So having one that enthuses me is the key! And the one electric! Less is more!
This or ls16 if you mainly play plugged in and do strumming using barre chords?

this is Kita Ikuyo's acoustic guitar on BTR x Yamaha collab
Really?? I didn’t know they gave her an acoustic model as well
Yea. I wish it was canon in the BTR anime/manga. I'd love to see Kita playing acoustic version of Kessoku Band songs.
