- Brisbane Broncos have parted way with club legend and head coach Kevin Walters after a disastrous 2024 campaign.
Though, only one year from being 25 minutes away from winning the premiership, the tide has heavily turned in Queensland’s capital.
Now, NSW Blues coach Michael Maguire is favourite for the job in a blow for the State of Origin side.

Feel bad for the guy but if they were gonna sack him this was the best time to do it. Get a full pre season with a new coach and they’re not dragging the inevitable. They need a tough coach who will bring some of their players back down to earth

Origin is a much better job, work four or five months then 3 games and you are on holidays until next year and the pay is bloody good.

I really am shocked the way everyone is saying its a great roster its still made up of the side that got the spoon, what fixed it was Reynolds and Capewell after the GF which was a breakout year for the club and a few of the younger players they lose Herbie Fleggler Capewell and throw in Reynolds and Walsh injured Mamm cant step up it seems without reynolds around and i tell you what you have a very young side with nobody being able to control the game they have overpaid for Mamm and walsh they will lose Cobbo or Staggs at the end of next year and have no halfback or anyone to be able to control the game i cant help but think without throwing the massive dollars at Mamm and Walsh they might have been able to retain herbie fleggler and capewell and when Reynolds retires they could have gotten somebody like luai who has never earnt anything like Mamm is on now! they have to be more shrewd like Penrith who have lost a lot of players now but they have lost them because of genuine success where Brisbane have over paid for unproven players i hope walsh and mamm kick on to be superstars but at the present time they have not got the ability to do what Reynolds does Maybe if walsh goes into the Halves Cobbo at fullback long term with Reynolds showing walsh the ropes but right now they are a side that relies on Reynolds and are very young afer you make the GF teams do the best they can to beat and go that little extra Walsh was a marked man and the big boys run at Mamm who has trouble defending them if reynolds can stay fit they will get through next year ok but talented players doesnt alwats make for a good side you need a balance and Brisbane simply havent got it

Love Kevvie but he never looked comfortable, always under stress. It may be a blessing for him. To be coach of a high profile team like the Broncos, you need to be on top of your game, not learning how to manage as the season goes on.
