It’s pretty bad when NPR is even getting into the action of investigative reporting. EVERY Federal Judge should be audited every 5 years. But Aileen Cannon was clearly corrupt before Trump appointed her. Trump wants everyone involved around him corrupt or corruptible. Jack Smith must have her replaced by the 11th Circuit NOW!!

The Antonin Scalia Law School got a noncompliance notice from the ABA in December for not disclosing if it even has enough money to run the school and meet accreditation requirements... but they had enough money to pay judges to attend these "conferences".

If Trump gets elected I'll certainly hedge all my bets on her getting an appointment, right after the moment republicans gain control of the Senate and expand the court to create more seats for them to fill, or they oust a current one whichever comes first. After all, whatever democrats balk at or hesitate to do, it's a high probability republicans will jump on it at first opportunity if they can use it for their advantage.
NO JUDGE, whether conservative or liberal, should be taking funds and not disclosing it. If they do NOT disclose, they should be forced to resign.

ALLEGEDLY, there's some US Supreme Court body currently writing a list of proposed guidelines for justices' behavior in order avoid glaring misdeeds such as this one and Thomas'. Sounds like the foxes guarding the hen house if you ask me. Some independent organization needs to understand the scope of the problem, at every level, and write ethical guidelines AND establish punishments, fines, grounds for dismissal -- no more appointments for life to any level court. My bet is Cannon claims clerical oversight for not reporting the lodge trip -- some poor secretary or personal assistant will lose their job. Hope not; Cannon should be investigated as vigorously as her favorite president.

Before corrupt, she is an adolescent in her profession - she's got neither the experience nor the maturity gained from professional struggles to satisfactorily perform the job she was appointed to.
Send her back to the AAA league- or maybe back to law school, WITH supervision in the law, not courtship by those with nefarious political agendas.

All Judges in our judicial system should be barred from accepting any gifts or luxury trips period. NOTHING, NO GIFTS NO TRIPS! Cannon can't even do her job and needs to be removed.

This is why Ive never believed that judges should be presidentially appointed! A majority of Congress would at least be somewhat better. And a judge should NOT be allowed to review a case for a defendant who appointed them!
