I am considering hydro dipping my goalie helmet but do not have any experience. I used to do my own custom painting, thought I would give this a try. Question: how did you avoid covering the logo and name? Did you apply a release adhesive, a special primer, or …?
@@schielohwolfe9814 the vinyl isn’t painted with hydro graphic paint. So nothing sticks to it . But the vinyl stickers peel off revealing the logo and lettering.
Hi Matt, I have spoken with client since dipping and he is absolutely amazed how durable it is. He has taken a few good shots off the lid, but no chipping.
Hydro dipping seems to be the best way to customize a goalie mask nowadays cause its affordable no more custom paint job s.

I cut out vinyl lettering and logo to match and covered after base coat.
Makes sense, but why doesn’t the film cover it up? Does it naturally come off of vinyl?

You are good
what size of fil do you generally need to do a goalie mask ?
For a goalie mask I can use 50cm or 100cm film.
@@blizsgarage8487 19in x 38in be good.
@@jaysutherland5360 should be fine . As long as you can roll helmet over surface of film and it provides enough coverage .
@@blizsgarage8487 thanks, doing a DIY on my sons mask
