I love this, more so because my uncle George McIntyre composed this tune, George was in a prison in WW2 while he composed this tune, god bless his sole... This tune will be played at our McIntyre family reunion here in High River Alberta Canada, this Saturday Aug 16, 2014
I'm playing this just now and every year at my gr uncle's unmarked war grave in Dunoon, estranged wife refused him honours or even any mention of his service on headstone. He should have been buried in Tarbert Cemetery with over 100 family members but sadly she had him buried in her parents grave which took me years to find him so every year I play this at his grave.
i was born just outside oban in Dunstaffnage/Dunbeg and lived in England since i was 16 and this tune brought the memorys/tears flooding , there is no sound in the world to beat the Pipes .
@madman7290 Hey, Are You From Campbeltown Too?, Did You Know The Hills Of Argyll Was Actually Written By A Man From The Mull,He wrote It In A Prison Camp During The War.
#1. A Song isn't made...it's Composed! #2. This is not a Song...this is a Tune! #3 Your Band didn't make this Tune either? #4. It was composed by a Captain George McIntyre in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's)... while he was interned in a Prisoner Of War Camp in Germany during World War Two! #5. Lastly, you're "level-headed" and you have Shit coming out of both Ears!
