the people who think $2,000 for a RC truck is expensive haven't heard of ScaleART, Amazing job on the truck it looks so much better than stock, and thanks for uploading videos they've really helped me out as i'm currently shopping for a RC
Also other people spend way more over the year for makeup and traveling and cars and clothes and other stuff thats also just luxury to have. I really want some offroad capable Truck with 6x6 like a western tar or kenworth for example as maybe logging Truck. But i only found Tamiya or the 6x6 Zetros. Which looks good. But i heard its hard to find a fitting trailer and i cant mill my own parts.
This is the first and Best "review" I have seen from the buyers perspective ! You tell it from the workin American Mans point of view. Thanks for the insight and I hope that you make more videos ! 👍🏻
Thank you Richard that is the best compliment I have recieved!! I have a few videos of reviews that I strive to make very honest, iam buying these kits and want to help people anyway I can!
@@gerrysoldguyreview Lol, I have watched so many different videos about so many different types of these high end models and it's so foggy about the manufacturers, trucks, and especially the prices for these machines. Just when you think you found what you're looking for you find out it's not what you thought it was.?! Make any sense? Lol
Perfectly that is why i started my channel, i used to use reviews to buy alot of my stuff but I to found the reviews a bit weak and vague but then again alot of those reviewers are getting free kits!!
show us your r.c tracks. and dirt roads for the 1/14 scale trucks. i have a lesu locking diffs 10x10 . alll wheels drive locking. . lesu more to scale and cheaper then rc4wd
I have quite a few driving videos of the trucks on the trails already. I have heard lesu is pretty good but also more expensive? Are the kits really cheaper?
been trying to decide to get the tonnage or the 1/12 HG-p802. looks like tonnage is winning after this video. end goal is to tow a trailer with a 60lb excavator on it. great video showing all the deets
Brother did you just say you're here in Alaska, lol I'm in Anchorage and currently working on 1/87 rc trucks, if you ever go to house of hobbys, you might see me with some of the finished trucks, cool channel and truck!
Once I finish with the lights and sound kit I will see how much room there is. With the cab over design this truck have very little room under the cab.
What i didn't like about this truck the cab is plastic and I don't like that . I did search for metal body I didn't found one . I found European models like "scaleart" make awesome models 95% metal high details but very expensive. +4000 euros for
On the plus side the cab is about the only plastic on this truck! Most all of the accessories on the cab are metal, some plastic, chassis to include rear fenders are all metal. In all it is a very heavy truck and pretty hard to get stuck and that was exactly what I was looking for!
Yes quick questions does the model waterproof ? And can I change the servos and the motor in it ? Because if I buy it I think I want to change them to the better
Thanks for subscribing!! It says the electronics are waterproof but haven't tested it yet!! All the electronics are pretty high up, and yes all replaceable, iam getting ready to replace steering servo it is a bit weak for this heavy truck! The motor is pretty strong, and the shift servo is OK! Thanks
I will check out the video, i posted about the trailer issue in a couple of my videos and am building a trailer, iam doing a goose neck, but maybe just bigger tires and modify the fifth wheel , I used a axial spacer and body mount
That bc8 trailer looks sweet but it’s abs plastic. The wording in the ad makes you think that it’s all metal!!!! I don’t know about you but I like all Metal!!!!!!
I dont know and never really got an answer from rc4wd, tamiya doesn't work either without pin and tire modification, so mine is home built! Thanks for watching and commenting😁
Tough call before when I got the semi it was exactly the same as the dump, but if I was to buy right now it would be the dump. Rc4wd has a new updated dump with a 3 speed transmission!!
@Gerry's Old guy review good to know cuz I’m buying one right now and I didn’t know about the 3 speed transmission one.Always helpful my man, thank you.
Thanks for these web sites, iam so tired of having to deal with rc4wd to get parts for my jd custom rigs!! It is a huge pain, it would be so much better if jd just had its own support network!!
So Tamiya not really made for offroad eh? I almost thought so after watching videos for over 3 weeks about the topic now. There are not really a lot of informativ reviews of these models and excavators and so on. And i found not a single one that would compare models and show differences.
Thanks for watching! There are different methods for making them work better, from new axles to filling rear diffs with epoxy. I have started using traxxas 20 million weight diff fluid works pretty well and can be removed. My video on tamiya globeliner and friends shows how it performs. Let me know what kind of comparison video you would like I can see about putting something together for you!
@@gerrysoldguyreview Well next Friday i will meet a local seller of these kind of higher quality models. I hope he can tell me some differences and strength and weaknesses. I am totally new to the hobby. I only know RC helicopters from 10 years ago. But its totally different :). For example i wonder what the differences are from 3k$ excavators to 7k$ to 10k$. All in 1/14. Or same for wheelloaders. Or between RC4WD Dumptrucks and Lesu Dumptrucks in same pricerange. Or differences from Your FMX 8x8 i think its called yeah? and the Mercedes 8x8 thats newer i believe. I havent even found a test video about the Mercedes 8x8. A topic i havent looked into yet is different Soundmodules. I find huge differences in quality in videos of RC meetings. Some Sound almost real. Others have always the same RPM no matter how fast they go. I am a bit older now and want somethingreally satisfying of higher quality :).
the people who think $2,000 for a RC truck is expensive haven't heard of ScaleART, Amazing job on the truck it looks so much better than stock, and thanks for uploading videos they've really helped me out as i'm currently shopping for a RC
Thanks Mario! That is why I am trying out this you tube, just a guy who loves r/c being honest about a vehicle I own!

It has definitely lived up to the expectations I had of it! Thanks dave!

Thank you, hope to be doing a driving video this weekend!
I bought a grand hauler a week ago and have already bought enough stuff for it to build a completely nother truck minus body stuff.. 😅
very very nice truck my dear friend
Holy moley! that's one sweet rig Gerry. very cool
Ah ha found the heavy tonnage!! One heck of a bad ass truck!!

Thanks rich!😁
@@gerrysoldguyreview I’m new to your channel as of this morning, have you tried pulling a load with it yet?
u need some spare tyres in between the cab and haul rack. because the gap is way to big
Once I finish with the lights and sound kit I will see how much room there is. With the cab over design this truck have very little room under the cab.
That’s a sweet rig
It sure is! But it was way to pricey
@@gerrysoldguyreview yea I wish I could afford one too
Be glad you don't have it, more fragile then it looks!
Sick truck, I want one lol. Is the a running video? If not you need one.
Thanks tim, I have a few running vids of the heavy tonnage, some pulling the trailer I built for it😁😁
great video Gerry have you thought a gen 9
Thanks Adam! I have been thinking about getting the gen 9
I really like the international bodys!
Where did you get the air lines from and what sites love to get me a set
They came on the truck, its a JD models vehicle distributed by rc4wd
Great video nice color
Thanks goran!
You mention a lot of metal parts but is the cab plastic?
Yes Zach, the cab is all plastic😁
I love it 😍
Thanks evin!
Hello from Belgium 🇧🇪, which brand is that. Nice truck
Hello again pieter!! It a jd model, sold by rc4wd

Rc4wd is releasing a bunch of new rigs!! You are more then welcome ☺
Where can I get those dually wheels, I want to put some on my overland ?
Marc, you can contact rc4wd, they are not cheap, but I know ThatsMyRc bought a set for his 4x4!
Wow is amazing I'm in Ghana how can I get one please
Rc4wd carries them.
Rc4wd is just a reseller. They don't make any of the heavy machinery, JD Customs does. I suggest you buy from

www.rcbrmin.com

That I would love! Still messing with hold downs on the trailer I built for this beast!
