I just wanna say when I first saw this video, I was in a deep state of what might’ve been depression due to bullying, my relationship with my mom falling apart and generally stress due to schoolwork, so whenever I had the chance, i would do this dance to cope or feel better since to me, it was healing. 4 years have passed and I have already healed, then I stumbled upon this video again and realized how much I’ve emotionally improved and I’m more peaceful than ever, so much that I forgot I used to dance this, lol. My journey was tough, but at least now I’m more aware at how much time heals. Just wanted to share this story, and for those who do actually suffer from depression or are experiencing symptoms, just remember that you are strong, you are loved, and that all your efforts to improve matter. Also, stay hydrated and eat and sleep well. And most importantly, don’t be too harsh on yourself, bc in these conditions you feel yourself to be in, the only person you can count on to improve and heal is yourself. Thank you❤
Some signs of depression: Feeling very sad most of the time for several week. Really low self-esteem: thinking you are useless,believing you are horrible or pointless. Not wanting to do anything; not enjoying things you normally enjoy. Not wanting to get out of bed. I dont mean just normal teenage sleepiness in the morning. I mean wanting to stay in bed and never get up. Lack of energy. On its own this isn't depression but combined with some of the other symptoms it could. Feeling hopeless about the future. Poor sleep: either trouble getting to sleep or waking early in the morning and then lying there worrying. Thinking about suicide or harming yourself. Weight changes and appetite changes. Usually,depression causes low appetite and therefore weight loss, but not always; sometimes people over eat when they are depressed, and this is often called " comfort eating"
I actually felt great after watching this the first time, when I was so down and looking for salvation. It def felt like the stress were thrown away. At least, at that moment bc it’s really tiring to feel down all the time.
During covid, I'd do this for a good 10-15 minutes a couple times a day while working from home. Radio Taiso and Depression Dance will forever be 2020 and 2021 for me.
That’s it, I’m committing, I will do this every morning now; part of morning exercise till I get a new therapist at least. Depression better watch out, I’m gonna start kicking it’s ass harder than it kicks mine, or I’m gonna try, which is just as good
