  • This one's not that great, no judging if you don't watch it.
Soviet LED indicators, Weird RF power meter, some talk about Geiger Counters and a big blue thing.

Just find what you can find! All this stuff has been interesting - it's amazing the amount of technology that's been obsoleted, and no one has an idea how much work had been out into developing it. Just keep doing what you do while you enjoy it!

The bomb proof container could be a remote LoRa station? Another challenge could be converting the very high drain extant device to the lowest possible drain a remote station could manage... Maybe it could top itself up via a tiny trickle of switched solar power. Go for a year? Gives people something to come back for "and check on your progress" ;)
    Enjoyed

First puzzle... Phased array to get the signal through that glass ;) WutFace :D 2nd... How does one get light inside a sealed tube and what frequencies does the 4mm glass let pass... How does that pertain to the available commercial solar junctions and how can we improve that performance. 3rd Puzzle... can circuits like the Joule Thief be of service in such devices?

Thank you so much for these videos, a view into an electronics world I never see. Love these vids, one of the few long form videos I really enjoy and pay attention to.

Are there hi res pictures of that Die anywhere else? There was text over the bottom bit in all frames and I would dearly love a better look. Many thanks. Fun finds. Also the DP-5b meter you have has a Latin "N" for the serial number... That seemed a little out of place until one realises that they just lifted it wholesale as "No." and then further abbreviated :) interesting histories.

I have a board with 2 displays and sadly one of the modules went bad. These displays are prone to internal failure of the bond wires and they become unusable.

Great channel and content, thank you. Please don't feel the need to appoligise your technical insight is first rate. I have the same illness when it comes to flea markets/car boot sales. Looking forward to future content as you develop your channel.
