10:24 FYI, in many cases an APU with the performance of the 6500XT would require at least tripple channel DDR5 to keep up with the bandwidth requirements, either that or a MASSIVE infinity cache, like 256MB
Interesting thing is all the 6650xt at AMD where sold out but you can still get 6750xt's and 6950xt's oem on there web sight. I personally would go with a 6700xt right now because there in between both cards.
I ordered the 6650xt and used Passmark benchmark to test it and the graphics test measured it in the 37 percentile of the graphics card market. My 6600 was in the 80's I sent it back the day I got it. It ran very cool though because of the lack of performance.
Would have been nice to see the comparison to Nvdias competing cards in the graphs as well. Lots of great info though, I'm curious as to how much additional performance there is to be had with these cards overtime through driver updates where so much progress has already been made with the original 6000 series cards.
I hope we eventually see some newer SFF/ITX sized AMD gpu's. I would like to upgrade the GTX1060 in my HTPC eventually. Not many options that fit the NFC S4 Mini (classic). :)
Asrock 6600/6600XT ITX single fan. Dual slot 179mm long. Picked it up because I know AMD single fan GPU is pretty much a unicorn. Much more silent compared to nvidia equivalent single fan 3060 due to the better thermal headroom on RDNA2 and it uses less power too.

I just bought RX 6650 XT Pulse and it's a great jump from my XFX RX 580 8GB, I can game even on 1440p with ease. Gigabyte Eagle 6650xt available for 399$+10$ Shipping so its really great value deal considering even 3060 cost 430$ which performs lower than it and 3060ti is around 580$ which is useless for its price point
I'm retired and don't do PC gaming but I love watching all these videos. I've just built a new PC for my recording studio (5950x, 64Gb) and didn't want to spend silly money on a GPU but luckily a friend sold me an RX6500 for £50. It might be weak for gaming but at that price, it's perfect for driving my ultrawide monitors. I was thinking of waiting for a decent price on a better GPU but I don't need to. I can spend the money on big SSDs for sample libraries. 😃
I remember the solid performance/value proposition for Radeon's past mid tier offerings... HD 5770 HD 6800 HD 7770 R7 260x R7 370 RX 480 RX 570 RX 560 5500 XT I doubt this current product stack shuffle is going to to do anything but hurt my wallet. MSRP is a joke. At least in Europe. The cheapest 6600XT costs about 525 dollars. So considering the 6650XT is a more expensive card as it is, we are not going to find one sub 600 dollars. Still stuck with my GTX 980. APUs do seem like the only viable option if you don’t want to pay double the US prices.

I really want to see Ray Tracing ability on the next gen AMD gpus. Like I doubt they will be as good as Nvidia's, but the upper half of the stack of next gen cards should still be relatively better at RT than the current stuff. Really, I just do not like to see massive performance loss when a really good looking game like Metro Exodus forces RT on.

I hope he's right :D lol - but i got the gigabyte eagle 6650xt ... i WAS gonna get a 3060ti but i only have a 500 watt psu and a decent PSU plus the 3060ti would have gone WELL OVER $800 .... so i just got this little card to up grade to current gen from my rx580 AND i got a 32" asus 1440p 165hz monitor ... i'm on a 42" LG 4k tv right now, and it tops at 60hz and so I thought I would try summa that there 'high refresh butter smoothness" :) we'll see :D

well this Refresh launch is mostly about supply line as AMD is just sending the die's out with a 18Gbps Vram chips from Samsung and Sk Hynix. 6x50 naming is done to skip a 60 minutes rant from Steve. so why not pump the power a little with as the Nvidia space heater use a lot more.
For those refresh GPUs, actually don't buy them and let them pile up in stock, then when the RDNA3 GPU comes around the year after, there will be plenty of stock and retailers will try to dump their stocks to get new cards. Don't let blockchain marketing talks get crowds of people into dumping all their wealth behind them, just save your money and buy games, not hardware.

Nah, $400 for a card like the 6650 XT is a joke. Not that nvidia is any better. Better spend a bit more for the 6750 XT. The problem with APUs is that you will need a CPU upgrade (and possibly a motherboard upgrade too along with RAM) just to have a new/better GPU. That would suck for budget customers.
If we could use whatever GPU form one maker with an other GPU with limitation of generation, and select ourself what that lower card do. Just physX, or adding all-around performance. Having apu + GPU would become great.
I'm weary of hardware hype. HairWorks was a performance sucking gimmick and so is ray tracing. CyberPunk is only meh but people think they need an $800 card to get ray tracing in CyberFunk. I had a great time with BL3 with a 580. I got a 6600 XT and its better but nothing stupendous aside from moving up to 144. Still for $360 new (Sapphire) I wasn't crying over no ray tracing
In today's market, this 6-month review is invalid. With Nvidia still trying to ripped off customers while the AMD pricing is fair. The RX6650XT is now around the 250s... the best deal ever. If you want to keep throwing money into the can with Nvidia cards...go ahead.
I had the 6900XT from PowerColor. I lost count of the many issues I encountered with the AMD drivers. From low performance in some games and benchmarks to having to tweak the settings in the driver control panel just to get optimal performance. I sold it and got an RTX 3070 TI and everything just works smoothly. Everything is perfect again like when I had the RTX 2080 Super. Games just work and I don't have to tweak a single thing to make my card work with its best possible performance. Very frustrating experience. So for me, AMD Gpus are a No No.

You know, none of this matters for me, I have a 6600XT. and it will be my final AMD GPU not because it is bad but because AMD spends 1$ a month supporting it. I have had it since launch, and still I cant use Blender with HIP ray tracing on my platform, if I however use NVIDIA I can use Blender with proper accelerated ray tracing, and I can use ray tracing when playing games. On my platform, my platform being Linux. It is sad to see that AMD wont open its drivers for Linux and wont support Linux with proper closed drivers, I do as a consumer and user not care if my drivers are open or closed i care about if they work and not, and no switching to SwindelOS X11 is not an option, but switching to NVIDIA is.
these x50 series are dumb cards in my opinion. should be focused on the 7000 series which was rumored to be end of the year. amd doing some dumb shit in recent years. at least they didn't launch a whole series based on the 5800x3d and instead only released the one knowing zen4 which will also have the 3d stacked cache will be out end of year.

I have had it since launch, and still I cant use Blender with HIP ray tracing on my platform, if I however use NVIDIA I can use Blender with proper accelerated ray tracing, and I can use ray tracing when playing games. On my platform, my platform being Linux. It is sad to see that AMD wont open its drivers for Linux and wont support Linux with proper closed drivers, I do as a consumer and user not care if my drivers are open or closed i care about if they work and not, and no switching to SwindelOS X11 is not an option, but switching to NVIDIA is.
these x50 series are dumb cards in my opinion. should be focused on the 7000 series which was rumored to be end of the year. amd doing some dumb shit in recent years. at least they didn't launch a whole series based on the 5800x3d and instead only released the one knowing zen4 which will also have the 3d stacked cache will be out end of year.
