I love diawa rods and reels I've been using them since the 1979' s and I still use a casting rod I first got in 1988 , I used it on saltwater snook , redfish , flounder, trout, and Cobia they never let me down

Great start to 2020
I've had two mini spins as a truck rod. One's reel was a lot better but both have a good back bone for the size and portability. Caught lots of county pond bass on that little guy.
I have that travel combo and have taken it backpacking, I have landed a good sized rainbow trout without issue, but nothing crazy big. It's fine for traveling etc.

If this is the H.S. Cemetery over in 19038, there is a very old original pond called ‘floaties pond’ just over the top of that berm. Many old cars were dumped into floaties which have provided lots of great homes for the numerous species of fish which reside in floaties. This pond your fishing is just a storm run off- the gold is in floaties.
Never caught bullheads in the winter but when March comes around I slay them on chicken livers and cut bait' and the bullheads around my fishing spots grow up to 5 pounds and they are fun to catch on a ultralight set up' love the video leo and that's a very unique rod and reel my friend ' stay groovy and keep fishin dude🤙🤙🤙🎣🎣🎣

Holy crap. I live 5 min from that pond. New sub here. Didn’t think any fish in that pond. It’s fairly new
I fish for trout in ponds here in Germany a lot and often use a technique called "Tremarella", for which we use very light and extremely soft tipped 13' to 16' telescopic rods and very light line.
You don't want to know how often I see people break such rods, trying to get them retracted again after pulling them out like they are trying to get it a foot longer......
Leo, you are lucky mate. You got a nice little fishing rod and reel for Christmas. All I got was socks and jocks that were a size too small. So, you may be right in saying there is so much a hole can handle, but believe me when I say, while packing the rod and tackle away, always make sure there is a bit of wiggle room..... for comfort.....😒.

5 piece!?! Awesome! What actions do they have? I have a telescopic rod made by Shakespeare which I've used all over but it's very light, biggest fish I've caught with it is a 5 pound walleye. I bought a St. Croix 4 piece Med-heavy rod that fits in my luggage bag, which is the definition of a true travel rod. So many companies call their rods travel rods but are 2 or 3 piece... if it dont fit it ain't a travel rod.

It’s best to hit the saltwater piers with new rods and reel, you really get to push the limit on these equipment (if they can handle saltwater )
