I'm not even a ford guy , but I definitely appreciate the craftsmanship. Great job bro👍
Wilfred thanks man!
Zachary McFarlin hey bro would u be able to call me? if i some how give u my email then i can later give u my number..i have a question on ur cluster panel..i got everything in my truck except dash cluster
My brother's saving to rebuild his 02 F350 7.3, It's a lariat edition and it was my grandpas. When that high pressure oil pump went out and the PCM did at the same time, Took us MONTHS to figure out. But to be honest, Your truck is awesome. I hope to someday build my dream truck (I want a sequential Twin Turbo 7.3 that way we can make some power, and a 10 speed auto swap).
this is amazing. I've seen a 99 Ford F-150 with a Raptor front end and rear end. but this is taking it to a whole new level, a level most people wouldn't want to go to because of how risky it could get.
Bro, you need to hook the thousands of people up with that wiring for the gauge cluster!!! You would be a legend!' Shoot even if you just posted pics of your wiring looms in the back we would jump bounds!!! Hook us up, pretty sure we would even be willing to donate for your time to just make the video!!! Great work man!!!
critter watson i would totally donate money to get him to make a video
critter watson WELL HE WOULDNT BE A LEGEND....PEOPLE ARE PRICKS ....IF HE WERE TO CHARGE MONEY THEN HE WOULD
Steve Pasillas add me to the list
He can care less about being a legend
Cool
So far this is the best that I have seen in a while, awesome build!!
wait tell you see what im making now..... 2016 swap..... i got the gauges done.... im just trying to figure out the AC and radio
Just went through your build thread and the detail was awesome. Ive been researching the dash swap as Im looking to purchase a v10 excursion and make these same modifications. Keep up the great work.
Mrg1ll get a 7.3 excursion!!!
2 late picked it up last week v10 4wd and got an 08 dash also
To date probably the cleanest dash swap
Awesome and nice truck Veteran and you are such a smart guy with putting everything that is nice and newer on a old and reliable 7.3 (in which I love).
You have come a long way Mr. McFarlin!
Definitly interested in how the cluster was wired. Your door video was excellent
well thanks to you I was able to install mine in no problem so thank you for making this video you made my friends jealous
Damn good job. That looks really good. I've thought about this for my 02'. I'm envious.
Wow that’s an awesome upgrade man looks real serious!!!!
Very impressive accomplishment guy! I know that I can't figure out the gauge cluster, but I'm curious if the 2010 a/c duct work fit directly onto the 2001 box. Thanks for taking your time to make this video!
it does not directly fit
You could probably do a front end, tailgate, and tail light swap, and nobody would be able to tell that it’s an 01 truck with Ford’s best diesel engine.
I have a 03 F 350 with a 6.0 bullet proofed would love to have this conversion with the boost gauge and I love the switch pannel set up
Looks really clean. Great job.
I just wanted to say WOW!!!! Very nice!!!
You should find another 02 with 7.3 do the same thing and make video and sell them on eBay I'd buy one
Taylor Vanconant he didn't say it wasn't
looks good to me.....this is one of the videos I send ppl showing them anything is possible
Hey Brother I dig your video, (I plan on doing a 2016 front end and 2012 dash install on my 99 F350 Dually 4x4 7.3 soon) but more than anything I just wanted to say thank you for picking up the spear. I couldn't help but see the SPC rank and name tapes. James Fries 100% Army Disabled Vet
James Fries Yeah after I finish m you interoir I'm doing the front end, I have the parts, but one project at a time
Zachary McFarlin thanks for the reply back. I am headed in the same direction with my 99 F350 4x4 7.3 super duty. I've got the mechanicals bad to the bone and my wife gave me the green light to start towards the Interior swap and the 2016 front end swap. I'm going to be using Mcnasty's components for the swaps. Best of luck with your future endeavors on your truck brother.
should get this truck in a magazine awesome build
thats the plan i just need to finish my interior
So clean keep it up bud 👍🏽
thanks man, door panels are next
This is the greatest thing ever!!!
I agree! I need more info on getting the gauges going! ive got a dash waiting to go in
you and the rest of the world!!!! the gauges are what took me the longest by far
Yep! My wallet and phone fit perfect in that gap as well👍
Trans cooling fan!? Have a video on that!?
Ha!😂👍I am installing (soon) a similar switch array (back-up light switch!)
I have everything bought already just wanted to know how you got the new cluster to work, could you do a video of a walk through or and how u set up?
Steve Pasillas - hell no
looks way better.love it.
thanks man!!!
We have almost the same amount of miles into our 7.3s... cool shit.
yeah now im at 228k
Loved the video. I have an 2004 F750 and have been looking to have this conversion done. My biggest problem is my truck does not have power accessories so I have been debating on if I should simply buy used 2008+ doors and try to bolt them up. I would then have to run new wire to all the accessories and my fusebox I suppose. Any thoughts? Also what did you do about the A/C not matching up? I saw there is a company that makes a retro kit to align the airbox up under the dash.
If you didn't get the wheel in yet I saw that an 04-08 f-150 wheel fits on the stock column and looks the same as the super duty
How did you get the 2010 instrument cluster to work on the factory wiring?? And how do you install the always on dim LED?
I would love to do that to my 01 350, but I'll bet cost a pretty penny. looks awesome, sooooo jealous
im about $500 deep into it
hey zack when are you going to upgrade your steering wheel
Thats badass! You can make some money off doing this! I'd pay to have this done to my 2000 f250
Feeeeew clean brother my 04 king ranch i now have an itch man. Im going to make my 04 out last me. Question to all my fellow ford brothers out there i havnt researched yet but when the time comes way down the road is it possible to turn a v10 gasser to a 7.3 cost effective or should i just buy a 7.3 and have 2 trucks
what kind of switches are those they look really nice
Hey good job that is really clean I would love to have that in my 06 6.0
where did you find those custom switches under the temp. controls? those are awesome!!
Seriously impressive
Did you have to reverse some of the gauge motors?
Should i do this to my mint 7.3 🤔
Those switches are sick. What brand
nice looking Cluster!!
I know, it take you a lot of hours customizing this cluster.
Love your music choice
viciousranger69 what’s the name of that song
Love the back up lights
this is amazing man! definitely worth the subscribe. I'm gonna follow your build so I can do the same to mine!!!
thanks man!
I think like an 04 f150 wheel, not positive on the year but it looks just like the 10 super duty wheel but will bolt onto your stock column
Can you fit a 2010 f150 steering wheel on a 2002 f150? Cause that would be killer!
Zach, checked your Instagram e4motors site out...great vids and pics. Anyways was this 2010 cluster pretty much a plug and play for your 01? Thanks
Nice work man, have you thought about swapping the steering wheel too though?
What heater controls did you use with the vacuum controls for the blend doors
I've got both clusters in front of me (02 and 2010) and no idea how you made the new one work. I'd pay good money for in depth details or for you to take this on if you're interested
looks sweet man! so what did you have to do on the passenger airbag? does the old harness just plug into the new airbag?
yeah the old air bag just bolted in and plugged in
Dirk Forrester he is lying....the airbag on mine was diffrent.....i have a 2000 diffrent plug
i put a 2010...
Hey bro, I hope I get response from you quickly. I was wanting to know if the plastic will bolt into 2000 frame? Will I have to make some hole to bolt in it? And also, will you please write up or how did you the gauge cluster? Because I found 2008-10 dash, steering column, steering wheel, gauge cluster, and heater core for $400 on Craigslist.
Man I want to put that dash in my 97. Think it would still work as good? How difficult?
This is a really good idea. Where did you buy the dash and how hard was it to this?
Craigslist for $600 and pretty hard
I wish our trucks would last forever... that goes for any make.
Nice job man!
this is so clean
Hey Zach, What are the road blocks to installing the new column? I have a line on a 2012 dash for my 2002 and I am wondering if it will work as well as the 08 model did for you. I know I need the 2008 center for the AC controls but other than that do you feel there are any more issues than with the 08?
Zack Mcfalin your videos are amazing. They have definitely helped me a lot with my 99 F250 super duty. what did you do to the fuse box and the GEM?? I don't see it in your truck.
thanks man!!! theres in the same spots under the dash, the fuses arent as easy to get to but it works and i can still get to them
That awesome can you also do this to the f 150s
I have no idea on the F150s
I see you are part of the E4 mafia, that's how you got the hookups on that conversion
Did the wires match up I want to do the same thing in my 03 expedition with a newer dash
hey I have the same truck except gas and Manuel Trans. I live outside Philly. How long did it take to do the dash conversion?
months of research but a couple weeks of prep work, and then knocked it out in a weekend
How hard was wiring up the cluster, and how accurate is it. I would to update my 00 F350 to 2010 interior.
i'd say it was a pain in the ass, but its pretty accurate, but my speedometer has always been off anyways because of my tires
how about a video of how to do it. including the wiring. that would be great!!!
Where did you get the light switches at?? I'm digging them a ton and want some like that for my truck. Thanks
www.otrattw.net/home.php
i have need more info on how to do this. i have a 2008 dash for my 2001 one but not sure were to start. and i'm doing door panels aswell but thats easy.
you and the rest of the world, check out my build thread
Anyway you could've gotten the digital screen/odometer on the dash to work? Great build! I've always dreamed of doing this on my Suburban
Woofer Cooker right now I'm working on making a better new version
freakin awesome man!! Wanted to ask, is your, "wait to start light", in the small middle, rectangular cluster between the gauges? thanks! considering doing this myself.
yeah its in there
In all how much did you spend on a fix like this sick custom y the way
i think around $500
Any way you can post pics or a video of what you did for the headlights and dimmer?
yeah ill try to do that, maybe i can make a better video when i finish the door panel swap
Do you live in Arlington va that truck looks familiar
can you please post a video or message me on how to do the gauge cluster I hate my old gauges in my new 08 dash
pretty cool! especially what you did with the switches, good creativity. think I can do this to my truck but with an 05-07 dash? my truck is a 99
I don't see why now
Zachary McFarlin I can't find anything on here. I want to do the same as you but with an 05-07 dash.
why the 05-07 dash?
Zachary McFarlin I like that it's more modern than what I have. The gauges are more badass, idk how to explain it. I want an 06 with a 7.3 if that makes sense
David Martin gotchya, yeah I think it would be easier then the swap I did
Where are you located and how much would you charge to the exact same thing on my excursion?
That's awesome. I have a 2002 f250 with the 7.3. Where did you get everything? And how much was it? I want to do the same thing
i found it on craiglist and im about $500 or 600 deep in the dash swap after said and done
Zachary McFarlin where can I purchase one of your dash clusters from
@@zacharymcfarlin3490 I wanna do my dash WATS the steps
Most dash conversations use knobs for heater controls...with the limited excursions heater control is totally different can’t that be used?
would you be able to show us a right up on how u did your conversion
im working on it,
+Zachary McFarlin sweet thx
Good job. I could imagine that it took some doing.
you dont even know
How's the steering wheel install coming ?
so if I bought a 2010 gauge cluster for my 05 f250 would everything work so I wouldn't have to use a light behind it? I know the 7.3 model had a different milage meter
Luke Colosimo uhmmm never worked on a 05 before but would be a whole new challenge in itself
Have you considered selling the wireing diagram for the cluster to do this?
yeah i considered it, and decided against it
do you have a picture or video of wiring the new gauge cluster to the old harness? I'm stuck on mine....
Robert Wildenradt me too. And I'm having trouble hooking up new light switch to old wires.
Robert Wildenradt I'm putting the 2008 dash cluster in mind to did you ever figure out how to wire it up I'm stuck on mine
Man, you're a genius
thanks man!! as far as i know im not the first to do this but defiantly the most advance and furthest into it
Hey Zack, question. Do you know anything about the fitment on the newer style interior door panels? Im planning what essentially would be a 2012 Excursion build on a 03-05 6.0L Excursion. Im intending on including a dash, doors, seats, and a front clip swap in the build. Any input would be appreciated.
Big Mike did you ever finish the Excursion?
How did you get the analog cluster on analog plugs?!
This shit is bad ass bro!!!! I had a f250 but about to trade my 04 f150 in for a 06 250 like i had.... & i wanna do the same
By any chance do you do this for a living in interested to see if you can work on my truck I have a 2004 f350. Please reply
nah i work in washington DC i just do this as a hobby
I followed your thread on the forum how did you get the gauges to work and if you can do you have the schematic for the swap I'm doing it in an 06 f350
an 06 is completely different wiring and computers then my 200. hoenstly i dont think i could help you tell i got my hands on an 06
that looks awesome.
thanks man
+Zachary McFarlin yea dude I checked out your while build on the powerstroke forum real dig your truck man. I love the right up. really cool stuff
thanks man!
wow that's cool, could this be done to a 03 ?
yeah i seen it done to an 03
nice I'm looking at buying a 03 XLT 7.3 & swaping the interior I like the idea make it more modern & add some extra value.
Dude this is a badass setup swap i fucking love this i need to learn how to do but my question is when u did the swap, does all the connectors meet up with the old stock dash unit? And is it affordable?
sense i did all the work my self and i found the dash off craiglist im about $600 deep into this. then i got the door panels for $275 off craigslist too
its a really nice setup and i may have a new project nw haha thank u bud love your 7.3
Do you do this conversions for customers. I'm interested in having a 16 dash install on my 02 7.3L. Not sure how to hit you up privately on RUclips.
hello sir my name is mike and i did the same to my 2002 f350 all except the instrument cluster ... how did u wire the cluster ? what were the steps u took ?i would most like to finish my dash but mechanic friend says its not possible to do so but seeing your video says otherwise ...thank u for your time and info .....mike
made everything from scratch
everything from scratch?
yup, blew threw a couple soldering tips
Did you ever get the column in ?
that's awesome. are you an Army Brother?
yes sir!! stationed in Washington DC right now, E4 mafia
when you used the new cluster did all they lights work or did u have to rewire stuff? Also how long did this job take?
rewire stuff, and a weekend
