    I wasn’t super familiar with the Mark Levinson brand, but based on hours of reading and watching reviews I had to have it. I searched for months for a blue RC with the radio and ended up driving 4 hours to buy it. It was absolutely worth the trip!

    I worked in entertainment for a couple of decades in various aspects such as a label & studio manager, talent agent and talent manager (still have one special client), A&R rep, etc. so I've been around music and audio equipment for most of my life and I had never heard of MLAS until they appeared in Lexus vehicles. My 2004 LX has the MLAS, so based on your video where you mention the Toyota, this was the first year? Personally I love it, still do, and because my LX has a cassette, CD, and Aux-in I can play a variety of music on it. I had my speakers re-refoamed because I wanted to keep the OEM audio and I'm very pleased with it. Everything sounds great on it aside from some hip-hop that's not been properly compressed, Jay-Z does this oddly, among others, but generally speaking it's more than adequate if you only listen to music for yourself and don't have the windows down jamming out the whole neighborhood.

    Finding a 2015-2016 Lexus IS350 F-Sport AWD with Mark Levinson is the rarest. Most of them I would say are from Colorado and Utah and some northeast states special order them for stock too but now the IS350 F-sport has the Mark Levinson almost anywhere

      That is true when I was looking for by IS that was the main key factor.. but if you look for an IS350 RWD they basically came standard in all of them.. but they they would not come with heated steering wheel option

      Yeah 2011-2013 IS350 F-Sport do not come with Mark Levinson at all. I don't know why they did this to us. At least 2014 and up IS350 F-Sport has it as an option.

    The performance of Mark Levinson Audio Another World with 23 speakers and 2400 watts makes you addicted to music and loves songs, and despite its strength, it is not annoying at all, even if the volume is loud

    Unfortunately when I bought my 2016 IS300 Fsport it did not come with Mark Levinson audio. I did have the stock Lexus/Toyota audio which was ok. Unfortunately I blew the amp after one year of owning it. Thank God for used certified warranty lol..

    Nice. Did you get this idea from that RDX review? Because that was my favorite part of that whole review. Glad you did it here. Very informative.

    I really love the sound in my Lexus, not long ago when my lease was about up, I looked into other cars and their premium audio and they sounded muddled by comparison, it just didn't sound sharp or the distinct sounds coming from individual speakers, I don't think I would be able to ever get another vehicle that had inferior sounding audio systems lol

    I don't believe that 2004 was the first year for MLAS in a Lexus. The MLAS was in most Lexus LS 430 vehicles at least since 2002 until I believe 2006. I'm not sure about the 2001 model but I imagine it was.

    I think they should go back to nakamichi the best in my opinion. Mark Levison is good basically a harmon Kardon but I suspect lexus went with them to save money not improve audio.

    I think we trick our brains to "like" a certain audio system.
    We most likely are using a compressed file to listen to music.
    I wished a had a cassette deck in my LS460 to really "test" the audio.

    • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels  5 лет назад

      Yes. CD quality is the best or Lossless audio via a USB stick. Everything else is compressed.

    I had an RX 7 years ago with this Mark Levinson, there was nothing special about it! And now in with ES for the last few years, I personally don't hear anything special! In fact I noticed better sound system in some aftermarket system in other cars! I don't know if there's any progress about the new Lexus models.

      I've been pretty impressed with ML in some of the Lexus vehicles. It definitely way better than the stock stereo in Lexus vehicles.
