As much as I love the action in this game, this music was probably one of the ones I remembered the most. It stood for a part of the game that was focused not on ripping and tearing, but uncovering just what occurred between Doom 64 and 2016. Loved it.
I remember just standing still at the start of the level and staring at the scenery (and the red moon) for a good 20 mins and just listening to this eerie tune. Such a haunting and surreal experience in this masterpiece of a game.... I also did the same in Urdak.
I only noticed this the second time I played through the game and was like how haven't I noticed this masterpiece before? It sends chills down my spine
that track on Doom 1 is one of my favorites, the man who create these tracks create tracks for Sigil too, the track of the first level of Sigil is awesome too
If you played the original games, the Sign of Evil should already tell you that much like _that_ old Phobos base, Sentinel Prime (and its society) are and always were beyond salvation, beyond your grasp, thus fueling your own despair, rage, denial and refusal to let things go... Unpunished... Which bolsters your resolve to kill _them_ all.
This track is so atmospheric, mysterious and beautiful. This is, arguably, the most beautiful song Mick has ever created, besides the A Day In Pompeii soundtrack. Mick did an amazing job on this soundtrack, especially the ambient tracks, like this one!
Yeah If doomguy trusts the Khan Maykr, he would be fooled by her and she would surely ressurect the icon of sin and it will destroy earth Khan Maykr is a lying bastard
When I hear this song it feels like a civilization lost to corrupt maykr rule, the sentinel people wanting to be free from their shackles and return to their old ways. Or is that just me
@@jeyerlulz the corrupted ones are not just the Marauders. I meant it in the sense that even simple Argentian folk renounced their old ways and embraced the new way of life by accepting the "gift" of Argent Energy despite of what the Night Sentinels found out and said to them.
@@blehh_mae not all, most went into hiding like the betrayer did. In the Ancient Gods part 2 the sentinels that joined Slayer's fight against hell's forces are the ones who still worshipped the wraiths, since the ones who worshipped the Maykrs are hostile towards the Slayer after he killed the priest.
In Sentinel Prime the Slayer sees what will become of Earth if he does not save it. He sees what the demons have done to his people, he sees what the Maykrs have not just allowed but have had a hand in causing. He sees what his failures cost. Never again. The demons, the Maykrs, they will all die. He’s going to kill them all for what they did to his home world, to this world that worshipped him, to this new Earth he’s found. They are going to pay.
How TF does someone take a cheesy little song, consisting of a few notes of midi music, and turn it into _this_ orchestral masterpiece? Mick is definitely one of The Ancient Gods
I wouldn’t say sign of evil is cheesy it’s definitely the most moody and atmospheric of the classic doom bunch. Honestly I’d say that it’s the best doom song period it’s actually got a pretty gorgeous melody to it.
@@vadernation1233 Right, it's very catchy and was my personal favorite from the OG DOOM. I'm referring to the technological limitations of that era (I used to help my father build PCs back then and it's astonishing how far PC hardware has come in a few decades). Because while Sign of Evil has an awesome melody, it isn't something you could get an orchestra to play onstage to thunderous applause. Unlike this composition here
The aesthetic of just this picture... it doesn’t fit Doom, the endless slaughter. Yet, it’s beautiful. I love it. The best aesthetic in the game, in my opinion. I can’t quite describe it at the moment.
I remember well when I passed the location with the bosses of the first episode. The music and the empty and spacious map gave a very strong sense of melancholy.

The UAC and Sentinel Prime share a lot of similarities in lore I'm just now starting to realize. That's probably why Mick decided to redo Sign of Evil and theme it also for this area. The UAC quickly fell to the corruption of Hell much like Sentinel Prime, Argent D'Nur and Phobos were both absorbed into Hell, and both forged and built the DOOM Slayer we have today.
Whenever I Listen to this, all I can think of is the will to keep going forward. The Doom Slayer was offered everything back if he just turned away and stopped. But he couldn’t. Too much had been sacrificed for him to turn around. He couldn’t turn back even if he wanted to. His rage would still linger, and his revenge would be incomplete. He had to trudge forward.
Took me a minute to realize, but this entire level was a remake of e1m8 from the original DooM; from the musical score, to the boss, to the portal to Hell..
And why do you think his power, his RAGE. Stuns the gods of the netherworld. watches the empty valleys what had slaves, And demons. That took against the slayer.
