  • Camping in Your Car. Can you actualy sleep and camp in a Toyota Yaris Cross? Test & Review
In this video I want to test whether you can actually sleep and camp in a Toyota Yaris Cross and use it as a mini Camper.
I will give you my honest opinion and review, when I test the size and options for arranging a bed inside the car.
Model: This is the Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 petrol Hybrid - 2023.
So far I have leased a new Toyota Yaris Cross short term, because I find it has some really good features in relation to driving off-road and generally living an active outdoor life. But is it the right car for going on Outdoor Adventures?
Is there enough space inside for you to sleep in it and use it for camping as a mini Camper?
I will show you a bit around the car, both outside and inside, and point out some of the really good features.
However, this is NOT a review of the car, there are certainly many such videos already. This video is therefore only about the possibilities for camping and sleeping in the car.
If you have other suggestions for how the car can be used for sleeping and camping in, you are most welcome to write a comment.
And if you have any other comments or questions, feel free to leave a comment here 😊
As always, please consider subscribing, liking and sharing. I will appreciate that very much and be really happy.

I recently spent the night car camping in my Yaris cross and discovered the if you push the seat forward as you did then use the seat hight adjustment and lift the seat as high as you can get it, this will give you extra room to lie straight out. I am 175cm and still had room to spare after doing this. Hope this information helps you out

Hi. And thanks for the tip. I tested it and you're right, it gives just that extra 5 cm. However, I am still surprised that I can only get the seat in a vertical position and not more inclined forward, as in almost all other cars. I have checked the instruction book, youtube etc. and can't find anything about whether it can be done. So it probably can't ;-)

People make big mistake to try to sleep on ten back
The best place to sleep on any cat ate the front seats
Just lower them down and find a comfortable position

Thanks for your good tip. I understand what you mean, but it probably requires you to be good at sleeping, so to speak. I personally can't sleep like that. I need to lie completely down and be able to change the sleeping position, so it is probably something very individual 🙂

There's some videos people sleeping in Yaris hatchback. I guess Cross is longer. You can arrange and organize a decent sleep mat there..

Yes, that's right, and I will definitely do that too. But as you can see in the video, it depends a little on how tall you are. I had difficulty lying stretched out, unless I was lying at an angle, and then you lean slightly downwards to one side, so it is not optimal. But I don't judge the car as bad at all, it's just not quite optimal for my height, and I'm only medium tall ;-)

Did you know that the Toyota Yaris was named after a Greek God?
~ the God of no legroom 😆

Use the "diagonal", you will gain a few cm. I myself usually transport 3 pairs of Skis: 174, 177 and 181 cm. In the double bottom I carry a complete spare wheel, two folding camping chairs, snow chains, rescue material and tools and then it is almost flat. Greetings

Thanks for your really good suggestions. Yes, I also tried lifting the slab in the double bottom and it gave a much more even floor. This of course removes the possibility that I can have storage boxes in the "recess", but it is clearly better with the flat floor. I also use the option of lying diagonally, but it kind of obstructs the space for all my other comping things, such as kitchen things and such. But all in all, it's all fixable, so I'll definitely have some fantastic trips out into nature.
