Thank you so much you save me you save me from being fired my first day on my job my key would not get out of my ignition and I just knew I was going to be late for work I thank you I tried the little zip tie thing to keep it from stuck in and I'm not having no more problems thank you so much
Thank you for the information! I have been fighting with that ignition for months. I am so glad you shared that info. Great work. Can't wait to see what else you posted for me to watch. Thanks again.
thanks for the video! exactly the issue on my 07 Acadia. I ji-rigged it with some thick cardboard piece and crazy glue.. so that it stays pushed in. All I did was snap the top cover off and unscrewed the bottom cover to have more room to work with :)
Any way to figure out which of the three could fix my issue? Got my key out with this method, everything else works just find. I just cant ever get my key out.
My 2009 Acadia has been sitting for about 16 months, battery is completely dead. Would this prevent me from removing the key from the ignition? Thank you
I honestly can’t remember most lock cylinders will only remove if the key is able to turn. So you need to turn the key to the on position and up underneath it there will be a little button that you push and you will be able to slide the ignition out of its holder if I’m understanding your question correctly
Hi Clay thanks for your video. I'm also in GR. I have an 08 Buick Enclave cxl, key is getting stuck just like in your video and the car is not cranking or turning over. Starter, computer fuses and relays replaced. Everytime i turn the key to crank the dash lights turn of and when I turn it to off/lock the dash lights come back on. Please help with any advice. Thanks
Well I have not experienced that problem. But that would make good video so I’d be more than happy to take a look at it. Figure it out and get it handled if you’re interested in that
@@sharpcarco That would be awesome. The only issue is the car died in Grant MI and to tow it back to GR is an additional $200. If I move it I have to be sure it will get fixed...lol ( i don't mean to sound demanding or like an ass) I messaged on messenger if you want to send me your location. Thanks for the quick response and your offer I'm grateful.
Hey I’m having the exact same issue. But still can’t get any power or crank. I got the key out and checked all my fuses and battery. They were fine before but now some fuses don’t work and the whole fuse box inside my 11 Acadia isn’t working. None of the fuses are blown though. Any ideas? This is the first video I have found that actually helped. I changed the ignition switch my fuel pump. Cleaned my throttle body. And switched my terminals in my battery and made sure it was fully charged. Still I turn the key and get nothing.
Good morning Michael sorry you’re having that trouble. OK so the power runs from the battery down the passenger side of the vehicle under the carpet so you can pull up the plates next to the doors to inspect it. Then through the firewall to the fuse box . Where it separates from your alternator and your starter. There’s not many portions of the main power wire that could really break because it would cause your battery to heat up so I’d have to think that you have a ground problem. I had this problem in the past when I had the engine replaced. It would intermittently shut off In my situation it was a ground wire on the engine that was loose. The ground wire that was loose on mine if you’re standing looking at the engine from the passenger side fender the ground wire was loose on the cylinder head of the left side of the engine closer towards the front near the timing cover I couldn’t see the ground wire but when I reached my hand back there I felt it was loose. From your description it sounds like you have a loose ground wire. So I’m gonna send you a link to a video that I made about the ground wires on the 3.6 they may not be in the exact position because this is a different year vehicle but they should be three or four like I mentioned in the video and this will give you an idea of where the ground wires are at. Thanks for the kind words I hope the videos helpful and welcome to the channel we are happy to have you. ruclips.net/video/YR-FOldx4tE/видео.html
Hello the Clay Way, My key is stuck in my ignition of a 2011 GMC Acadia. It has not come out since I was rear ended on New Year's Eve. The auto body shop that fixed the back hitch amd bumper can't seem to figure out how it was related to the accident . Do you have any ideas?
I would have to agree with them more than likely it probably does not have anything to do with the accident but if it happened at the same time. And you’re certain of that it is a possibility that the shift release sensor broke during the impact. Your brake switch could be defective. But to the best of my knowledge I don’t know how you could say it was because of the accident because that sensor inside the shifter goes bad quite frequently and it could just be in coincidence. I’m sorry at this moment I’m not very insightful. Some days I am most days I’m not. I wish you the best and I hope that’s a little bit helpful have a great day god bless
@@sharpcarco Hi thanks for responding. I guess I will have to to wait to find out. If not a result of the accident then maybe like you said a coincidence, strange but there was never a problem like that before. I can't take the car back until I is resolved because it causes battery to drain and there is no way the car would have been useful to me then or now with that problem being present. It's frustrating but something will come about eventually. Thanks.
N T well how old is the battery because it could be that he just has a bad battery or your alternator is not charging it when your battery goes dead the key will stay stuck in the ignition if you turn the key off and cannot remove the battery turn the key back on right away and see if the vehicle will start if the vehicle starts it’s probably not your battery you actually have a defective switch of some sort. I hope that’s helpful I wish you the best of luck with that situation I’m sorry that happened to you

wow that's crazy. so it's one of three things huh ? glad to know this. I'm a retired certified tech and this is just getting more and more crazy.
Heading out to do this right now and see if it jumps - ty for some sanity in a not so sane world!!!!
Hopefully we were able to help you out 😎 thanks for watching
Great video, thanks! This is a major problem with these forms, Saturn, Buick & Chevy

Worked like a charm!

Thank you
Yes, it will. If you put a jump on the vehicle, you will be able to remove the key.
2010 Acadia has key stuck in it also. I can turn off the engine, but the key won't turn all the way into the off position.
I've got a issues with my same ignition how do I remove the lock cylinder has not release button

Thanks, wow what an engineering nightmare
Just sent mine to the dealership yesterday for this. 2016 Acadia :(
How much did it cost?
My 2017 canyon start doing that , I can`t believe GMC is so suck ,I never buy GM no more.
