the Ki-94-II is a very pretty plane tbh, sort of wish I had it just for that reason alone.
I would get myself one if it wasn't for the stupid high price of this thing.

Also this plane is HUGE for a fighter, when it stands next to a P-47 on the runway u can see how much its lager, even than that (just look at that pilot...)! I got mine from this SUMMER event from those cocktails' stuff (sadly the plane it self, not the coupon). BTW I only wasted 1M SL on that "bait". After spading it in air RB; I found use for it in naval battles, with my cruiser lineup as "the fighter" u can take (the J6K has too high BR and the N1K2 just lost its extra bombs).

@@mineshaft12 In the Ki-87, I either just go for bombers or occasionally dive down on unsuspecting players. Also, if most of the enemies are dead, and the rest are running or far away, like always in air RB, I’ve found that the Ki-87, like many late war prop planes with 20 or more caliber guns, is very good at destroying nearly everything on the ground using its guns, so I just farm Howitzers, anti-air guns, armored cars and tanks until the match ends.
The reference at 3:41 really sent me back a few years. 🥂

What you said about nobody going to high altitudes is so true. When I unlocked the Ta 152 H1 I was dreaming about dogfights above +6000m because the plane was made for it. But guess what? Nobody goes there. The match simply happens on the deck. High altitude fighters are useless aditions to this game. Gaijin should put objectives above +6000m like AI bombers to force the players to go above that mark.

The plane is good, what is useless is the "high altitude fighter" role in this game. I play it as any other energy fighter, but the ocasions where I use all of its advantages, like the engine bosst at +7000m, are very rare.
And we got the AI attackers flying at 800m instead. A nail in the coffin for high alt fighters
same for Ki83 and I225 but it's just me that I'm bad I guess xd

Breh I was literally just obsessing about this plane again the other day. My rampant Ki-94 obsession quelled down for a few years but only in the last week has it been escalating to the point where $150-200 doesn't look that bad. I think I needed this video

Flying a bad plane only teaches you a couple aspects of air RB, like playing carefully, picking good targets, managing your energy, and flying as the underdog and learning how to handle a bad situation. It only teaches you a part of air RB, it's not like it teaches you how to be good wholesale, most planes in the game will teach you something about the game.

16:59 I like to think of it more like exercise rotation like a bodybuilder would do in the Gym so that his muscles don't get used to doing one sequence of movements. I will occasionally play bad planes to force my mind into a corner and see what new strategies I can come up with or learn. I find that when the mind is truly cornered, fascinating things can potentially occur that can sometimes be beneficial. The trick though is not to over-work yourself and play something like the fw190 A-1 at br 5.7, that's just ridiculous. It's good to challenge yourself but remember to go back to that slightly meta plane and use what new tricks you have learnt :)

I was gonna say "positioning" is the key to winning in a bad plane...90% positioning, 90% keeping your team alive, 20% having the correct caloric level...

If the plane has really good high altitude performance then you should try to get it on the Afghanistan map since you start at like 3-5km at the ground elevation.

Guys what can the bf109k4 do Vs stuff like the yak3u and yak3 vk107??
It has the firepower and energy advantage at higher altitudes. Also has a higher rip speed for dives, and can make tighter turns at mid speeds with its flaps, but usually focusing on maintaining energy and altitude is best.
Better climb and little bit faster at higher altitudes. You don't want to see a Yak 3 that's higher than you and you don't want to see a Yak 3 at same altitude when at altitudes lower than 4km up.
If you have teammates in the area it is not hopeless, but if you don't you gotta pray it's a bad player.
Also don't turn after going head on go straight and watch your back until you can climb safely or turn around when the Yak 3 is busy. Unless your are at lower altitude and not fast enough to reset for another head on or just run away in general, then just full send it and use what ever flaps you can to get the shot in the first 2 turns if you get the chance.

With MEC you can WEP without overheating. That's the only way to play it.
As sim player I say this useful for BnZ not dogfighting

If memory serves me correct this plane was a reward in one of the first summer event I ever participated in I got it then didn’t touch it for about 2 years then played it spaded it and have not touched it since lol I think I might have had it in a ground line up or 2

How is this thing 6.0 is beyond my comprehension.
It's funny, I didn't find this plane so bad when it came out. But it just doesn't strike that same usefulness as a similarly ranked premium/gift plane with better rewards in either the A6M5 Ko or the Ki-87. Plus the Ki-94 isn't even premium (when the event F7F at the same rank among other event vehicles are) so really it doesn't even play a role in grinding quickly.
Regardless, its "unique" I guess, but uniqueness and usefulness are two different things.

A very bad plane wont teach you anything indeed. I learn a little thing everytime i grind something new. Yaks teach me to dodges, bf109 teach energy trap, fw190 teach reversal. And then there are french that teach 7.5mm is trash.

Just bought the plane, was still learning it and I got intercepted by a Corsair near our spawn in Ground RB. I had the altitude, did one pass on this guy, then went passive as I tried to figure out what to do. The guy was on the deck and I'm at atleast 3,000ft. I decided to do something, turned left, he pitches up and climbed straight up to me. We all know how deadly the US 20mms are.
After my plane became a fireball, I learned that I should've just taken the fight on the deck. Oh well 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
@@rainsilent Pretty sure it was a 4B. My lineup with the FB.5 is 5.7 max. Fairly certain this match was an uptier. Yeah it was like my first 5 games in that plane and I fully understand how good the Corsairs are. I was still learning the plane.

Can you try the sm91, i know it's a good plane but everytime I win a dogfight or stall out an enemy they always end up running or diving away before i can get my guns on
To be honest, this plane is not great, but I love planes with horrible performance and satisfying guns! The challenge really brings some thrill to the game :)
ki 83 has the same guns and climbs far better far better choice in my opinion

Got this plane from the Travel Suitcase and can confirm it is terrible in every way. Slow rate of climb, engine overheats, can't turn like other Japanese planes, gets uptiered to jets, can't outrun anything. Completely worthless.

@DEFYN 2:10 The guns haven't been nerfed. They're bugged. Their HE filler doesn't fragment right now along with RDX and another filler which I can't remember right now.

Intentional or not, they are nerfed.
@@DEFYN Yeah nah I disagree. They haven't changed anything about the shell so no intentional or unintentional(like changing the decimal point in the numbers) nerfs have been applied to the shells which makes them bugged as they're not working as intended.
They gave it another explosive type which is worse atm

@@a_stone they removed the "ExplodeHitPower" line in drone age, which removes any shrapnel creation on impact. Any gun that does not have shrapnelling (M61, M24, M39, Aden, Akan, Defa, Gau-13/8.. etc) do not have this line. The guns which do shrapnel do have this line. I will make a bug report on it when I have the time, but this issue exists for years now, so I'm not even sure if this is intentional or not.
Removing lines regarding explosive power seems pretty intentional anyway.
Regarding explosive types: I have no indication that those govern any shrapnel behavior, they I think only determine the TNTe value.

How do I play the sabre? I can not figure out how to dogfight in it, a problem I didn’t have in the F80 and 84. Also all you fight are afterburning missile carriers all day
You're mostly going to be facing aim9Bs or their equivalent. Only some planes like the Sea Vixen or the seldom Su25, A10 or Q5 will have better missiles, so it's mostly down to your awareness and energy thats gonna get you killed to a missile. If you're fighting a mig, use your roll against it since they have poor roll. I wouldnt dogfight unless theres absolutely no one around, going slow and fighting ppl is the easiest way to get shot by a missile or third partied, so stay fast and only dogfight if you can/have to
Tbh the Sabres are a little sad rn. That BR range needs a lot of decompression. The other commenter makes a good point though. Try to keep your speed high. You should be around the 900s and be boom and zooming. Climb very shallow to get your speed in the beginning. I’ve had the most luck with side climbing. Most things at your br and lower can’t catch you. Your roll rate is insane for defensive flying too, just don’t get slow. If you’re snapping your wings a lot or loosing too much energy in turns, you can deselect the boosters modification until you get used to the plane. The problem with the sabre is when it constantly has to fight supersonics and missiles better than the 9B. Just depends on the matchmaker. It’s 50-50. If you don’t get up-tiered, the Sabre is a beast when you learn it’s strengths. Don’t climb with migs is the only other thing. They will destroy you in the vertical and climbing department. I also use 7min of fuel except for the large EC maps. Let me know how it goes
