  • Join us as we explore the food, wine, and fascinating culture of the European cities along the Danube River! We boarded SS Beatrice, one of Uniworld’s beautiful ships, in Budapest, Hungary. Each day of the journey, we visited a new city, so we covered a lot of ground but always made it back aboard our ship to our luxury suite for a peaceful night’s rest. Whether it was wine tastings on a vineyard, cooking classes in a local village, or discovering a new culture in government buildings and ancient churches, every single day brought us something new and exciting.
If you’re curious about taking a European river cruise, definitely consider a route that includes these port cities:
    Budapest, Hungary
    Vuckovar, Croatia
    Karanac, Croatia
    Belgrade, Serbia
    Vienna, Austria
    Ruse, Bulgaria
    The Iron Gates
    Vidin, Bulgaria
    Veliko Tarnovo, Romania
    Arbanasi, Romania
    Bucharest, Romania
    Until next time,
    Rob + Christen

Yes- you are correct. It looks like we have an error on the text during the scene where we are talking about visiting those places in Bulgaria. Thanks for keeping us honest!

Great job! I think that it could be of use to research a service such as P-R-O-M-O-S-M!

it is really a shame that you haven.t step foot on the romanian shore of the Danube river in beautiful villages and cities like: Dubova, Orșova, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Brăila or Tulcea ... you missed out big time

We would love to visit those places and will definitely put them on the list for next time. Because we were traveling on a river cruise line we didn’t choose the itinerary. Although our time in Romania was brief, we loved it and can’t wait to go back an explore more!

you dont have much to see on the Danube beyond the iron gates(exept for the delta), romania at least is very infrastructure poor in that part, in my top 10 of places to visit it has no place form, and even Bucharest ,there are many many better places to visit, also the best part of bulgaria is it's black sea beach and the montains ,and i have to tell you ,you missed some amazing places : transilvania with it's montains and castels , the thermal places, sibiu, oradea ,cluj, timisoara, ,danube delta, bucovina, the salt mines, caves, beaches ,etc

We have remarked several times that if someone has never been to Europe, this wouldn't necessarily be the first itinerary to take. For us, we loved the people we met and were fascinated by the political history. One of the benefits of a river cruise is that you get a taste of several port cities and towns, but you never get to go deeper into the country to explore. We definitely want to go back to the area, but not on a river cruise, so that we can visit the places you mentioned!
