South Coast Part 1 NSW Aus- Nth Durras and surrounds, Pigeon House Mountain and kangaroos!

- We have not had 2 weeks off in the longest time! This is part 1 of our recent road trip to the South Coast in NSW Australia. We stayed at the Durras Lake North Holiday Park which is nestled between the beach and the bush. The park if full of wildlife such as kangaroos, goannas and many birds. There are bush walks straight from the caravan park (although that didn't go as planned) and the most pristine beach is only a 2 minute walk away! We stroll through coastal scenery, do some unsuccessful hikes, conquer Pigeon House Mountain and do a bucketload of relaxing. We hope you enjoy watching 2 super relaxed humans having the best start to their holiday!

So many closed walks, just like up here in the blue mountains. The new trails are so spectacular. At least there are always alternatives to enjoy.loved the view after your hike.
Sometime you just have to get creative. The only plus from the fires is that so much infrastructure is getting upgraded and the walks will eventuality be better than even once the bush has some more time to heal ❤️
Awesome guys, pigeon house is a great walk. Have you considered hiking/climbing the castle? Looks like some great beaches around there. Keep em coming 👍👍.

That’s some relaxing beautiful hike. I like how you can just go through the shoreline, although preferably with the wind behind your back. Too bad some of the trails were closed though. That panoramic view on the top 👌🏼 and that clear ocean looks so nice for snorkeling ❤️

There is a few places to go and check out down that way. I plan a couple days stopover on a drive to S.A. later this year (Covid permitting). Hopefully the tracks will be open by the time I go.

It sure is. That was the beach walking distance from the Depot beach holiday park where we stayed, was really nice to swim in that little lagoon

Question: What do you carry in your packs?
I’m so glad you liked it! We usually carry at least 2.5l water, snake bite and first aid kit, SPF, binoculars, a camera, rain coat or jacket if the weather is sketchy and some snacks. So used to hiking with packs now we take them nearly every walk, so handy to be able to sip water the whole hike on the go too. Love our Osprey bags ❤️
