  • This trip we venture off to a place that we have had on our wish list for some time, and that destination is Potato Point on the beautiful and romantic NSW South Coast. We are joined by Steve's sister and husband and brace ourselves for the predicted winds, thankfully our wind break allowed us to still enjoy sitting out by the campfire at night. Beautiful beaches, turquoise waters and an abundance of wildlife, for a holiday park, this is up there as one of our favourites. Site #83 was a winner, elevated and protected from the southerlies. It also has its own picnic table, fireplace and overlooked the beach. Beautiful!

Good to see the roos. So many were lost in the fires.

Great camp park, perfect location and wildlife everywhere, but 50 bucks for an unpowered site. 🤦🏽
Guess it’s only double the price of camping in NP’s in NSW these days 🤦🏽🤣

@@aguyandhistroopy I know, it’s a bit rich, but to have that site overlooking the beach, we thought it was worth the experience. It is a lovely park and well maintained with camp kitchens, clean showers/loos and the option to use their wood-fire pizza oven.

Do you have videos or guidance on how you made your windbreak? It is genius. 😊

Thanks Belinda, it's been so handy but no I don't have any video on how I made it. If you look back at our video ruclips.net/video/kJvDCkLwNhw/видео.htmlsi=6qPuE4uzDkwy6ns- "Where to camp in Sydney" or ruclips.net/video/5lhleXAZOJ4/видео.htmlsi=i0DS9DpB233Q6tV6 "WINDY? We've got the solution in Lucky Bay" I show you a little more detail. Cheers Marg

@@gibbosroadtripadventures thanks Marg. A few questions.
What material did you use to make it?
What did you use for poles/pegs?
My mum has a clever friend that can sew I’m going to bribe her to make me one. 😀.

I think $50 for unpowered is outrageous.

It is up there for camping $$$ but it’s actually the location you are paying for. Potato Point is beautiful and the holiday park is immaculately well maintained, so to be able to camp this close to a stunning beach, we accept the fee to do so.
It’s a very popular park on the south coast which gets booked out a year in advance, so there must be many people also willing to secure their chance to experience a stay there.
It’s an eco friendly park with native animals everywhere and they also offer a pizza oven service, where they fire up the oven for you and also have doe available with rolling pins, trays and extra flour for rolling. We think all of the above is pretty cool.

I thought $50 was standard these days? We just got a pop top and trying to find places along the coast that are cheap!

Mr Brown, are you on drugs. $50 is pocket money, cut your whinging , you’re loaded. If you invest in a box on wheels and fuel to get there and back what’s the problem. Wake up to yourself tight arse
