Would be awesome to kind of live like a Viking or the way other ancients did Minus the slavery and with modern amenities (electricity, plumbing and reliable wifi lol) a
I love your accent. My husbands family came from Finland, but his accent was different from yours because his family came from a more rural background. He'd describe you as "cute."
1st, one got up to light the fire. no road in no road out. just the boat to row about. your town is empty. everyone dead. we can only play viking in our head. thank yew take care
Hi! That's a bit of an inside joke at Njardarheimr. Vikings had slaves and took part in global slave trade so it's important to bring that side up as well when discussing Vikings.
It's fun to remember how the village looked in the first year! It's changed so much since then and we have more to do. :) Come back soon!
Woooooah, amazing!!!
Thats awesome

Same. Would love to live in a turf house or one with a sod roof. Wood stove and plenty of yarn for knitting, and leather for bag making.

What's with the "KAFE" sign near the entrance?
It's a sign for the cafe that's open there in the summer :)

What are the roof coverings?
Grass
Grass and other wild plants that are allowed to grow as they like. This type of roofs are great for insulation and feeding animals among other things!
